Make sure the tv is in the right settings for the input from the cable box (input hdmi or 1 etc) and hit the tv button for volume and cable button for channel changing.

Try setting the tv to channel 3 or 4. if that does not work, try finding a "input" or "source" or video" button on the remote and cycle thru them, this should get you back up and running. remember to have the cable box turned on during this so youll see when it comes back on.

Go to your menu and choose picture. See if your settings are normal or if the brightness is turned down. If it isn't then it's a problem with the T.V.

Hi, i was trying to turn down the volume on my insignia but i accidentally hit the channel button instead and it wouldnt let me go back so i think i messed up my tvs programming. how do i fix this?

The TV's Ok, your remote has a keyboard problem - a key is stuck or has gunk stuck under the
key's contact pad. Clean the remote's keyboard contacts with a pencil eraser (mildly abrasive) to
shine up the contact(s).

I have a 32 in insignia and a universal remote was used to try and turn channel..it turned the channel once and now its frozen on that channel even the tv remote wont work and the manual buttons on the tv...

Turn your TV off and unplug it for several minutes. Remove the batteries from any remote controls that you use for the TV, press all of their buttons, and install fresh batteries. Reset the TV to factory defaults. The universal remote control should not have caused any damage to the TV. If the problem persists, we recommend that you seek service by calling 1-888-237-8289 in the U.S or 1-866-237-8289 in Canada.

Cannot turn tv off with power button or remote , must unplugpower

It could be a stuck button on the set. check to make sure they all feel the same.. If one don't feel right try to free it .. If a button is stuck it wont let any of the others work or the remote.

Why does my RCA TV cycle through channels on its own?

this is the same type of problem happening with other rca models and I know it is the EPROM CHIP but why this is failing is either because of design flaw , dirty enviroment that they were made in , to much voltage or current to the chip or too much of a draw from the chip causing it to fail . Or even a random frequency from the IR sensor or its circut I'm still investigating and testing.
leave the tv unplugged for at least 3 weeks durring this time resolder any solder that don't look good , I did this and it lasted for about 6 months(always plugged in to the wall) before it started doing it again. model # 27v412t

Sound and Volume trouble

I bought my Insignia 32" LCD in November 2007 - same problem. I figured out that if you press the "input" button on your remote select any of the other options "component 1, composite 1, etc.. that you're TV isn't on -then press "input" again and go back to the component that you're TV plays on - you'll have volume when you go back every time. I've gotten so used to doing it now that it's become habit. 9 times out of 10 I have to do it.
