Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

OK, following your advice of March 9th I got a new lamp from Mitsubishi and replaced it tonigh in my Mitsubishi rear projection model WD-62725 TV. The old lamp was clearly broken. However I have installed the new one, replaced the front cover, etc., etc. and when I plug in the TV I hear a faint whirring sound on the far right (as I face the front), sounds like a cooling fan probably, but when I press Power either on my remote control or press the Power button on front of the TV, nothing happens. I hit System reset button. Hit Power buttons again. Nothing happens. Hit system reset then waited a few minutes. Hit Power buttons again. Nothing happens. So now what? I am suspecting the Power On/Off switch is broken.

OK, following your advice of - mas_baz_22.jpg
open cover of color wheel and grap it.

mas_baz_23.jpg Rotate color wheel manualy , listen it. If hear fristing sound, means color wheel is bad. Replace it too.

You are telling me to go into a part of the TV that I, as an end user consumer that is not a trained TV repair technician, am told both in the owner manual and on a big sticker on the front of the tv under the grill cover, am most definitely NOT to try and access!

Indicates clogged filters or dust clogged fans. Clean and vacuum cooling fans and filters. Replace lamp assembly with new lamp. Should work fine. Also, try unplugging TV, wait ten minutes and plug it back in. The controller will reboot which may alleviate the problem. Regards.

we have the same brand tv but the 65" model. had a 4 year warranty just in case the lamps went out. the lamp went out and we called conn's to come out and fix the tv. the repairman replaced the lamp, and then he said to unplug the tv from the wall or the strip it is plugged into and wait 5 minutes and then plug it back in. he left and said to call him back if that did not work. did what he said and it fixed the problem. try unplugging the tv for 5 minutes and plug it back in and see if that might take care of your problem.

Time to replace the lamp, this is a simple process that 98% of tv owners / consumer can do on your own,you do not need a technician to do this, there are simple instructions on how to do this in the owners manual and / or some of the mitsubishi's have instructions right on the back of the tv set where the lamp access door is.Good luck!

Hello! If you haven't replaced the lamp before, I recommend you do it, since it's already 4 years old. If you already replaced it, there is a possibility you might be having a ballast issue. The ballast is the board in charge of sending all the power to the lamp so it can light up. www.discount-merchant.com/?Click=48427 These part are not that expensive and will get your TV up and running.

Try removing the filter cover on left side of chassis and cleaning the filter. I had the dreaded yellow/green blinking light , so I removed and put back the lamp (it was ok) and cleaned the filter screen and the light was out, tv came on...all ok!
