Burning smells from electronics generally portend dramatic failure in the very near future.

But, if the small is truly coming from the fan (and not any of the 1000s of components being
cooled by the fan), then either (a) lubricate the bearings of the fan, since they're burning up, or
(b) replace the fan.
You might want to call customer service to ask whether or not your set is under warranty - in
that case, repackage the set and send it in before it catches fire.

Flashing red center light

With most flat panel TVs, the TV turn itself OFF when it has a fail electronic part and the red light starts flashing. They call this "Protection Mode". The flashing red light should be a error trouble code.
But, it's weird that everything is working and the red light is flashing. Since you just recently bought the TV, I would get it check out while it's still under warranty. Better safe, than sorry.

Burning smell

.. any heat element like bulb must be installed exactly and that means its wattage, voltage and physical characteristics.. and also make sure that you have replaced Fan blowers and making it sure that it runs properly when the unit is on. as it was said also make sure that you do check the light that travels thru lenses and filters that is not block by dirt, cables or any other foreign materials.
