I have done that many times. The program works, lights, everything seems OK but the heater. Would the small sensor (?) at the center of the heater, against the plate shut down the heater? May I see a diagram?

The coffee maker was given to me as a present about a year and a half to 2 years and I do not have the receipt. If I follow your instructions and open the bottom will that void the warranty? How can I get Krupps to honor the warranty?

Sounds to me like one or both of the Thermal Fuses are blow. This was the major malfunction for this coffee maker. Krups offers a three year full warranty on their coffee makers. So if this is still under warranty I would contact Krups and have them send you a new one or repair the one you have. Opening the coffee maker will void any warranty. I'm going to show you the steps on how to replace this and also a picture of what they look like. If you at all are not comfortable working with AC electronics. Find a trusted friend, family member or technician to do it for you.

  1. Unplug the unit.
  2. Remove the bottom of your coffee maker.
  3. The coffee maker has tamper proof triangle screws. You will need to acquire that style screwdriver. You can make the right sized flathead screwdriver work with enough messing with it.
  4. When you open the bottom the fuses will have a white sheath on them. Krups coffe machine KM4065 does - ironfist109_21.jpg
  5. Slide the sheath it will look like this. ^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^
  6. The specks are on the fuses themselves. I think they are 216C and 240C
  7. Therm-O-Disc G4A01216C - Microtemp G4 Series, Axial Leaded
  8. Therm-O-Disc G4A01240C - Microtemp G4 Series, Axial Leaded
  9. and can be bought at
  10. You may buy and extra one each in case this happens again.
  11. When you get the replacements and go to soldier them in you will want to put a couple alligator clips on the end of the fuse you are soldiering. This will act as a heat sink and protect the fuse from tripping.
Regards, Tony.

Assuming you have not opened it, you might be able to give Krups a call and give them the serial number and they might be able to assist from that. Often times serial numbers will have manufacture dates and sometimes they can track the sale of it if you know where it was originally purchased and roughly the date that will certainly help too. Here is the website that has some information on how and where to contact them.

According to your problem either it is power section problem (if the lights doesn't go on) or brewer problem. If The water tank is empty then it may possible.

May be there is a power failure or a power surge. So unplug the machine, then plug it back in.

Check the clock must be reset after a power failure. The Auto-Off function switches off the coffee maker. Switch off the coffee maker then switch it back on to make more coffee. If it does'nt solve your problem then check the capacitor, fuse and diode of the power supply board of the brewer.

Check If the brewer stuck for dust or anything.

I wish to take the Ellure Plus machine to India where the power supply is 240 volt. What shall I do? What is the power requirement in Watts for this machine. Your feedback is highly appreciated.

You will need to check with the instruction manual of your machine what the specifications are.

Today the 120 volt mains, I am told, is almost a thing of the past and 220 volt is much more common. The UK mains electricity used to be 250 volts but it has been lowered to 240 and eventually it will be lowered to 230 volts to bring us closer to the European specification.

Because most electrical equipment is imported and we are a minority market, electrical manafacturers didn't want to produce specail goods just for us and so for 20 years or so most of our electrical goods are suitable for use in a range of mains voltages from 220 to 240. Sometimes they are marked as such and sometimes marked as 230 volts but we are told 240 won't damage them and they will still work efficiently at 220. It is only very old electrical equipment made for 250 volts that seems slightly less efficient.

Some equipment is made for universal use and will accept 120 volt mains as well as the 220 to 240 range. In this case there is usually a provision to select a different voltage by means of a switch or by changing some simple internal wiring connections. Details of how to do this is invariably printed in the manual.
Equipment produced for 110/120 volts only would become dangerous and be soon destroyed if plugged directly into a 240 volt mains but a transformer can easily be obtained to allow 120 volt equipment to be used on 220/240 volt mains. A great many professional tools are still produced to use 120 volt electricity for reasons of safety and so auto-transformers of all sizes are commonly available and not too expensive.

I have a fairly limited experience of sewing machines but I think a domestic machine has only a very small appetite for power and a supply suitable for a reading lamp will be more than adequate. The exact wattage of your machine will be found in the instruction manual.

I set up our new coffee maker and it didn't grind...ordered it online from Macy's but had no manual and didn't know what to do...put coffee grinds in the top and then set up the timer for this...

You need to swivel the brew basket cover until it locks for the coffee to grind. Then turn the machine on and the coffe will grind. , then turn the machine off, add water and press the auto on to use the auto timer.
