For anybody looking for an alternative try removing the dvd drive and power it up again.

Usually a rapid blinking charge light is alerting you of a battery fault. Try taking the battery out, plugging your computer in, and turning it on (with the battery out). If it boots up, then your battery is to blame, call customer service right away and see about getting a new battery.
