Tv screen turns black and red when playing through pioneer receiver

Usually when I hear of solid colors that display on a TV, my first solution would be to change the cable. We know your DVD player is working as you connected it straight to your TV and you report no problems. I assume you are using a composite cable (red, white, and yellow) Red and White being the Audio and Yellow your video.

But since your player works...and your tv works under the same input, then the only other issue would be the output cable from the receiver or the actual composite input or output connector is faulty.

try a video game system in place of the dvd player through your receiver..if it happens again, then change the receiver's output cable...if it still persists then your reciever's output connector is faulty.

I hope this helps.

You just need an RCA cable. Find the output from your dvd and connect to the input of your tv. The cable has three connectors in three colors...red/white/yellow. Res and white is audio and yellow is the video.

Have connected cable (white, yellow, red) from Conia DVD player to TV as component 1 and connected Sony VHS cable (white, yellow, red) to TV as component 2. What other steps need to be taken for the...

component video needs Red, Green, Blue to be connected on the DVD end and to the TV for video to display, also the Red and White audio out needs to be connected to the TV for audio to work .
VHS has Red, White an yellow for Right Audio, Left Audio and video respectively.
You need to switch the inputs on the TV to the corresponding Component and Video inputs. Most TV's have a source or Input button to switch between the inputs. simply press the button until you have the input you are looking for.

Camcoder ,PS3 or DVD player output to Laptop screen

I've had the same problem with two other unrelated HP input products in this area myself so I understand the pain. Media Center is not really well geared for nor is very friendly in the end user component input area. I'm assuming you've already tried playing a video file from your camcorder while setting up the Media Center input settings? Try a different software that will recognize your input card. Ideally, you should use any input software that came with the card itself from the manufacturer. Contact the manufacturer for a link to the original software bundle if you can't find it from their website or you may need to research your own replacement software solution for this product.

DVD's not playing in color

sounds like the problem is the TV . your tv have to different inputs , COMPONENT is for the separate color , BLUE , RED , GREEN this is for better video quality , if your DVD doesnt have this OUTPUT feature , then maybe the YELLOW (VIDEO) , RED & WHITE ( AUDIO ) thats coming out from your DVD player is connected to the COMPONENT input of your TV , GETTING the B&W effect. it should be connected to the VIDEO input of your TV ( yellow , red , white ) hope this is helpful AJ

I have Directvhd and a Govideo 1140 combo. When I tried to play a dvd on input 1 get the movie with no sound, if I go to input2 I get the sound no movie it says progressive scan.

make sure the audio (red, White) is connected to input 1 and the video (yellow) is also connected to input 1. It should be labeled for indentification. Your video is on input 1 but your audio is on input 2 and vice versa. Check your connections again. Make sure your using the red white connections on input 1 for your audio and the yellow for the video on input 1. The above also applies to input 2.

No sound

tcolson,

good day, make sure your RCA red and white marked cable connected to TV screen audio input where you also connect your yellow cable which is the video.

note: always remember color code of RCA cable

yellow = video
red and white = audio (left and right)

connection would always be:

video device yellow RCA socket = TV yellow "INPUT" socket
white and red RCA = TV white and red "INPUT "socket
make sure that all this 3 cable are connected together in a specific "A/V input"

cheers ,
mark

I cant get go video model #r6740 to be able to be connected to my cable box and still work help please

connect the yellow, white, and red cables from your cable box (output) to the (input 1) connector on the dvd recorder. Then connect the yellow, white, and red cables from your dvd recorder (output) to a (input) on your tv (make a note as to which input on the tv you use). then turn on your tv (set your tv by pressing input, line, or channel down from channel 2 until you see the input you connected your dvd recorder to). then power your dvd recorder on (you should see it on your tv screen), then change the input on your dvd recorder to input 1 (or which ever one you connected your cable box to). Then power on your cable box (now you should see your cable programming on your tv, passing through your dvd recorder). Now you should be all set to watch, and record what ever you want, (however most dvd recorders will not record copyrighted materal, their is a signal transmited ny the owner of the movie, or other content.)
