What i suggest is you delete all your browser history and cookies then try to go to facebook again,if you still cant go to the site then try to re-install your safari web browser or download a newer version of the browser and re-install.

i hope this helps

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How can I logout of FB on an imac?

Hi Maggie
Whether it's a Mac or a Windows PC
FaceBook Log On/Off has nothing to do with the OS Software.
You are using a Browser...
Either Safari or FireFox or some other Browser. Therefore you are on a Web Page that is created by/for FaceBook.
If FaceBook makes it difficult to log out.... don't worry about it.... just move on to a new site like https://duckduckgo.com/ which incidentally does not Track You when searching
...... "The search engine that doesn't track you"
If your not happy with their Web Page Layout then complain to FaceBook via the feedback button on their own website.
I personally won't use them as they track your every word for future reference. But then Hopefully you are aware of this.

Cheers

I get the spinning rainbow beach ball of ***** on my Mac Air - only when I log into Facebook. Can you help me with that?

Are you using a browser (Safari) or the Facebook app?
If the app, try a browser, and pay attention to the info from the others about the browsers and cleaning up your Air.
If you're using the FBApp, check the App store for comments on similar issues.
Also, if you can, try another machine's browser or app to see if you get similar results. If you do, it may be your FB account, esp if the other person's machine/app works fine for their FB. If you're both slow, it may be FB itself.

Why am I having trouble with facebook not fully loading on my pc

Could be your browser and/or Mac OS version. The G4s and even G5 Power PC Macs could only run operating systems up to 10.5.8. Minimum OS for running the latest versions of browsers, such as Safari and Firefox is 10.6. under the Intel chipset. Because the old browsers are slow, sites like Facebook and Google do not always support them.
OS 10.5.8 is more compatible than, let's say OS 10.4.9. Check your OS by going to About This Mac under the apple logo on the left side of the screen. It will tell you what your OS is. Your choices: Upgrade your OS to 10.5.8 or take a giant leap to an Intel Mac and run OS 10.6.8 or later. Eventually your old G4 will not be able to connect to anything because of the browser issues.

I log into Facebook through Safari. I now have to log in every time I want to use. Didn't have to before

Safari is not saving your facebook cookies files within itself. It probably is deleting them after you close the Safari Browser. You may try Firefox which is a better browser then Safari.

Why can't I log onto Facebook? My Windows program prompts a security response and then cannot display the page.

There could be many reasons. The easiest fix is to try and different browser, after restarting your machine. Also DL "CCleaner" and clean the temp internet files with the browsers closed.
If you're on a windows-OS then you've probably got custom JAVA or internet security settings, and you've somehow not allowed facebook to be a safe site. To fix that depends on which browser (IE or Firefox or Chrome or Safari, all depends) you use!

Download the mac version of opera browser and see if that fixes the problem.
If it does, then simply use that or re-download safari from Apple's site.

Gmail performs very badly on my mac, frequently unable to load through the firefeox browser. i never have any trouble with any other site, other than gmail.

This is not a "Mac" related problem. It is either network related or browser related. Try logging into Gmail with several browsers. Safari comes built in. Download Opera and try that too.

Good Luck
