Echo due to playback setting on mic controls. ??
Go to sound properties and enable all slider controls both for Playback and Recording. Look at Recording sliders and mute any that you don't need (esp. Mic Playback).

Using medion md 96340 with built-in realtek hd audio sound card. in skype video calls the caller can hear very well but called person does not hear at all. skype echo test says-cannot find sound...

Hi,

Analysis- The call can gear very well - indicates that the speakers / head phones are working fine and the audio drivers are working well
The called person doesnt hear any thing - it indicates that the caller is not able to transmit sound. This can be a microphone related issue. It can also be skype settings issue.

Please answer following questions to analyze the issue better

1. has this ever worked before?
2. Have you tried using the microphone for some other application like recording some audio?
3. Have you tried audio / video calls using some other chat program like gtalk?
4. Are u using any external microphone attached to a head set or is it the laptops inbuilt microphone?

Im trying to use skype but nobody can hear me and i dont know what i need to do

Make a call to echo

Echo will ask for you to speak and then your words will be echoed back. If you don't hear your voice you need to make sure Skype is using the right microphone input. If you are using a desktop PC with a USB camera, you may want to make sure you have the input settings set to the camera as they default to the on-board sound card.

Likewise, if you have some sort of device that could have diverted the mic input away from the microphone you need to check that too.

So from Skype:
  • Go to Tools menu
  • Choose Options
  • Choose Audio Settings
  • Make sure the Microphone is on the right device

Check in Call menu in the option Aduio Settings that you have enable your microphone enabled and with the correct volume

Or make a call to the Echo / Sound Test Service to see if your micro is enabled

If you cannot hear you record you can got the Menu Help and select the option Call Quality Guide and select the apropiate option

My new Toshiba has a great sound system but the mic is bad.

1. IF THE MUSIC FILE WORKS WHILE PLAYING THE FILE THEN IT IS NOT AN ISSUE WITH THE COMPUTER
2. YOU CAN REMOVE THE SKYPE USING "REVO UNINSTALLER"
http://www.revouninstaller.com/
3. TRY RE INSTALLING THE SKYPE FROM
WWW.FILEHIPPO.COM
4. IF EVEN IT DOES NOT WORK THEN IT COULD BE AN ISSUE FOR THE SPEED INTERNET CONNECTION
BEST OF LUCK

Echo in my acer aspire 6930 latop

it sounds like you might have an old driver with your computer or possibly a progam running in the program is not allowing the computer to run fast enough to play the music. also try disabling if you have, antivirus programs or anti spyware programs.

Cannot hear my voice in the skype test skype is set up on the ubuntu operating system

Firstly, what version of Ubuntu and Skype are you using? Also what machine.

There are three areas where the issue could be - within Skype's settings, withing Ubuntu's settings or with the microphone/soundcard.

I'll cover some quick attempts at solving, assuming it's the first two.

OK, first make sure Ubuntu's settings are correct. If you can access the sound settings (generally there is a Speaker icon in the top right). Right click, 'open volume control'. Often you need the 'boost' level as well as the usual microphone - if you have 'Front Mic', sometimes you need 'Front Mic Boost too', likewise if you have 'Microphone', you might need 'Microphone Boost'. In the Volume Control, click preference to add the 'boost' level.

If that didn't work it might be your Skype settings. In Skype options, 'sound devices' try changing the 'sound in'.

If those didn't work it might be hardware (or another trickier software issue) - try testing your microphone on something else.

Your getting feedback from your microphone.
Try to mute or lower the volume of your microphone in the playback part of the volume mixer.

Microphone does not work

Yes, sometimes Skype messes with your hardware settings and sets it up to what "skype thinks works best", if you have System Restore turned on, try going back to the time before you installed that version of Skype.

Also, look in your Device Manager settings for anything screwy.

Orbicam and skype

Try reinstalling the drivers. Skype regularly has updates, and these, along with windows updates, are great at messing up once working hardware. Unistall the device and any software, then re-install it. This normally works.
