Your bump sensors are malfunctioning. I had the same problem... The best thing to do is order a repair kit. I ordered mine from EESolutions.ca and it worked great.

Check all the wheels to make sure that they are ok. Check the sensors on the bottom and make sure they are all clean.

Roomba 560 goes in circles. appears lost


You have a locked wheel switch that needs to be cleared. You will need to remove the top of your roomba and find which wheel switch is clogged and clear it.

Goes in circles


If you have the 4XX series or 4XXX series then your issues are coming from the sensor in the wheels. You will need to clean them PROPERLY.

Vacuum goes in circles and stops


Blow out the front, dome area with compressed air. All around the little white wheel and the bump sensor in the front of it with air.

Will fix it.

My roomba runs in circles


Try using a leaf blower, up close and all around. I was having problems with (I assume) the sensors under the bumper and (maybe) the wheel sensors, but after blowing it out with a leaf blower it works fine.
