Amd radeon 5770 problems

There can be many issues but 2 main problems that came to my mind first is problem with drivers, or problem with graphic card overheating. But more likely drivers, so try reinstalling/updating them.

Hi Q about ATI Radeon HD 5770 [ for Apple MacPro] .. will it work on asus motherboard, / power sup, voltige and more , thx

I don't believe so. The programming in that card would be for a Mac and not work with none Mac systems. In normal cases if the card will fit the slot you could expect it to work but in this case if it specifically says it is for a Mac it will only work in a Mac computer.

Take the card out and restart system. Shut down and reinstall card, make sure card is inserted properly, it should hook and then push down. You may have to push on tab that catches the computer case while pushing in to make it go down and into place. Restart system. Let me know how this goes and, will it start n saf mode?

Everything boots up fine when the 6-point power cable is not plugged-in to the graphics card, as soon as i plug it in, it makes all the right noises but i get a blank screen....??? Thanks

Hello there, I am the Expert that will be helping you today. My name is damnor01.

Welcome to Fixya.
It is possible that your computer power supply can not deal with the extra load that the PCI-Express cable delivers.
Or the power that is supplied is not being supplied in a constant manner.

Click here for the Minimum Requirement of this Card.
A power supply of 650Watts or greater is recommended for this Graphics card.
Cooler Master Extreme Power Plus or Gamer Extreme will do very well. A similar brand will also suffice.

When it comes to power supplies go overkill!

Also the manufactures name is not know to me, if the problem persists claim warranty support.

Thanking you kindly

I suggest that you get an additional cooling fan, just for your video card, as San Andreas is a highly complex game that utilizes the video gpu very hard. Oblivion is another game which does the same thing. Also, I would look at getting a seperate case cooler, the more fresh air you can get into the case, the cooler things will be.

When I install the 5770 Hawk, it makes a high pitched sound and there is no video. The MB I am using is a ASUS M3A78-EM AM2+ 780G/A64x2 6000+ This is the second 5770 Hawk I've tried, both do the same....

The 5770 requires 1X 6 pin power, this is why you aren't getting any video response. Make sure the 6pin power from your PSU is inserted correctly. This card runs at 108 Watts and can't get all of that through the motherboard alone.

I suggest that you need to buy the SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 5770 1GB graphics card. It is compatible to your ASUS motherboard. It will display and work faster.
