Question about Gaggia Espresso De Luxe Espresso Machine

Open Question

How do you disassemble a Gaggia Espresso Deluxe? In particular, how do you remove the plastic case? Are there tabs, screws, somewhere that I am missing? What part do I remove to access the boiler? I'm afraid of breaking off a tab. Usually there is a right/easy way to do this kind of disassembly and a wrong/hard/break-stuff way.

    Ah, figured it out myself.

There is a SINGLE phillips screw holding the top cover on. It's located down in the reservoir fill hole under the fill cover. Remove screw, tilt top forward and pull up.

SOURCE: How to remove shower disc

You can use the filter holder blocked with a piece of nylon so water will make the coffee around the shower and screw to desolve. Just keep the filter holder with hot water for 30 min and then try to remove the screw. You can hold the small screwdriver with a plyer and by heating it a litle bit on the back try at the same time to turn it. This will loose the screw.

SOURCE: Hi. I have a Krups XP7245 combination

I had the same problem with the XP7240. The rubber seal in the plunger that pushes out the coffee cake after brewing is worn or dirty. You need to romve the cover by taking of the top (screws in the bean collector and cover tray for cleaning tablet). You have to be rough because parts are clicked together. The face of the machine comes off by pulling it upwards (it is just clamped with plastic nudges). Once that is done you remove the 4 screws that were hidden by the stainless steel face. Then remove the electronic board (leave connections on except for bean grinder and boiler). Grinder can then be removed followed by the cream cover. Remove the 15mm steel nut on top of the arm. Remove the front and display. Then use a torix on top of the brew plate and an allan key on the bottom of the plunger. Unscrew, remove spring and seal (very small cup). Let me know if you need more instructions (take a rainy sunday afternoon to do this)

I have a gaggia deluxe coffee machine which won't dispense coffee. the pump works with the steam nozzle and I've checked the guidance on the possibility of an air lock, and dispensed a lot of water...

it can be 3 problems, you can eliminate them 1 by 1 in this order:
  1. Calcium in the boiler > you unscrew the filter&filter holder(2 bolts) than you unscrew the screw in center (you see it after disassembling filter holder). If it is full with calcium, the pipe which goes vertically up for few centimeters you can drill it with 3 mm drill BUT AFTER YOU TAKE OF THE FINAL 4TH BOLT. You continue and release the short pipe and provide flow from boiler, test it and clean it than with decalcifications'(it will be more easy for you)
  2. We suppose case 1 isn't, and u have flow after unscrewing the 4TH bolt, than you must check the pressure valve (it returns the higher pressure with dispensing water back to container. Follow the short rubber pipe and you will find it. check the gasket and functioning of it
  3. Pump could be to week with pressure that she can't open the spring of valve above 4TH bolt, in this case you need to change pump.

Water for steamer but no water flows to make coffee

Remove the screw and shower screen under the brew head, make sure screen is clean, try running the head to see if water flows, if no water remove allen wrench screws, and check spring and valve seat, DO NOT LOSE SPRING AND VALVE. Try running head, if water does not flow, reassemble and descale machine.

I have a Gaggia Deluxe and it keeps dripping after you turn the switch off.

If it drips from the head, then remove the screen and screw, then the 2 allen wrench screws and diffuser, and check the spring and valve seat, that might be off centered, adjust and re assemble.

My gaggia coffee machine hasn't been used for a few months and now won't dispense hot water through the coffee unit

First remove the screw and screen then press brew button to run water, if that works clean screen and reassemble, if not you will have to remove the allen wrench screws and clean the diffuser and vlave spring.
