The machine is a Gerni Classic 110.1 high pressure water cleaner. It has only just started doing the pulsing intermitent jet action, previosly it has always worked fine. The nozzle appears to be clear and can see nothing wrong with the action in the handle.

Hello, myK236 root jet nozzle has stopped working. There is no rotation of jet. Also it just stared pulsing on one wand, but works fine with the root jet wand. Thanks

the rotating nozzle is clear and that is why it is working It requires pressure out of the jet to make it rotate so a simple tap on the ground will generally get it rotating again as for the straight jet and pulsations
the jet is blocking up
unscrew it out of the wand and clean it out
the pulsations are from the pressure regulator unloading from a blockage ( same as taking you finger off the trigger ) coming and going in the jet
as the jets blocks up the increase in pressure operates the regulator and as the blockage moves around the pressure regulator again works giving full pressure until the blockage again occurs

Adjust the screw on the pressure regulator on the high pressure hose is one way The other is to check the nozzle for obstructions. The problem is that there is insufficient flow from the nozzle so the regulator valve is trying to cycle between cut off and working pressure.. The regulator is set at factory for a particular size nozzle and anything that alters that ratio will cause you problem. The screw on the regulator has some fine adjustment to allow for slight changes. Any impurities in the water supply will tend to block the nozzle affecting the regulator .

Does not give a continous high pressure flow cuts in and out

that is sure signal of insufficient water supply!

try easy solution first:
make sure that your mains is fully open, that tap on whihc hose is hook up is fully open and hose is of "decent" diameter to allow sufficient flow.

if above solution do not work then you need to make another, more difficult arrangement:
prepare 20litres pressure tank with inlet connected to mains and outlet by short hose to power washer, fill it with water from mains, keep it under mains pressure and use karcher power washer normaly. this will solve water supply problem. twenty litres will last about 2min, because it is re-filled, under standard pressure therefore it will last about 3min...

third possibility is to stop washing...

if you find my advice helpfull, please do not hesitate to left the comment and vote for me, thanx!

I have a Kew Hobby 80. The output from the lance is not constant but pulsates.

Could be the input water pressure is not sufficient. There is a pressure valve inside the machine that will cut off the motor if input pressure is too low or non existent.

Try a different source for the water input.

Karcher 360M pressure washer pulsating problem when idleing

Hello,

unfortunately these little units have this problem commonly, 9 times out of 10 it will be the plastic head or the plastic valve block on the unit will be cracked and leaking slightly... it builds up pressure then leaks out and tries to build up the pressure again and this just reoccurs over and over...

you can get this repaired but is normally about half the cost of a new unit, if the pressure is still okay i would probably recommend just keep using it until it proper dies...

If you do get this fixed, we have studied into this and believe the main cause of heads cracking is warm water say if your inlet hose is in the sun for a period of time this can cause the water to become quite hot or if the unit sits and water trapped inside the head assy freezes can also cause this. Hope this helps Kind Regards Brad
