Question about Poulan Pro PRRT900 17Inch 205cc Briggs Stratton 900 Series Gas Powered C

1 Answer

I have 2 poulan pro 900 series tillers and they are fairly new anyway when I engage tines they work fine until they hit dirt. then they stop and have a loud clicking noise. I'm sure that they are more than likely stripped out but can they be repaired and if so how ?

If your tiller is one that has power to the wheels and the tines at the same time ... are the wheels going? If it is one with no power to the wheels, are the belts engaging?

Tines do not move in my poulan PPB2000T cultivator attachment

PPB2000 more than likely has stripped a gear in the gearbox. The drive cable is probably ok. Tines are driven by a worm gear and brass gear. Internal parts of gear box not available.

You might have just sheared a shear pin that's how some of those are designed. Check around the shaft area that connects to the engine you might find that a pin is sheared if so, pound out and replace. Sometimes also called shear bolts. Good Luck...

If the gearbox has a fill plug, remove and let it air-dry or blow compressed air into it to help dry. Then, get some PB Blaster aerosol penetrant/lubricant from the auto parts store and spray as much as you can ito the box. Let is soak 24 hours or so and THEN come back to it and see if you can get it unfrozen.

Mtd rear tines tiller won't engage tines. F and R

I had similar problem recently with 2007 Huskee MTD series 410. The shift assembly bent and couldn't move the clutch collar all the way over on the drive shaft.

Troy bilt horse pto clutch will not disengage

The problem is lack of lubrication in the pto coupling. Losen the two swing bolts carefuly, block the front under the motor. Separate the tine transmision from the housing and grease both sides with as much grease as you can work in. Work the lever as you do this. Should fix the problem.
