My Wii starts up fine, no problems. then when i put in a disc, it makes all sorts of noises, and an error message comes up saying to eject the disc turn the power off and refer to manual. i did that and it told me to unplug the ac adapter, wait five minutes and do it all over again. but it still makes noises and comes up with that same error message. what should i do. my warrenty is up and i have no money to send it in?

Maybe the disc reader in the Wii is having problems, this could be natural for the Wii, but if it isn't reading the disc, then try talking to the nintendo company and ask them that there is a loud noise in the Wii when its reading discs, they should know what to do. My Wii does that sometimes, especially Super Smash Brothers Brawl, but it still works though. hope that helps.

Make sure the discs are clean, make sure you are putting them in the right way, other than that you might try some sort of lens cleaning disc.  Also, make sure your Wii has the latest firmware update.

Wii will do everything but it won't play games.....

I had the same problem. No new games would play but the old games played fine. I clicked on the spinning disc icon (where the game should come up) and it prompted me to do an update. I accepted. Once the update was complete (took about a minute or 2) the new games worked fine.
