Hi Sicnoramoore,

If your having problem with your shark iron and it leaks drops of water while ironing, it might be the water holding tank has a crack. Here are some steps that you may apply to check what's causing the leak issue.

1. Check the water. If you put wrong water it will cause the iron to spit the water out. So try to use good spring water or bottled water. Also make sure that the iron is empty before storage.

2. Check the two front screws ( they are hidden ). The two screws are holding the tank to the base. Sometimes iron developed a crack caused by tightening the screws.

--> if the unit has crack, I will recommend to call the manufacturer if warranty is up to have it be repaired for free.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

My Shark is leaking water and not passing steam to the heaad. I've also...

I saw a post about no steam coming out of the head of a Shark Steam Mop. So I had to go and checkout my wife's shark....
Here is what I found and how you can check it out and fix it

If you pull the attachment off and look inside you will see that there is a small hole that the steam travels through into the flexible hose with the spring around it and then on to the head and out the smaller holes...

Now if the first hole gets plugged then no steam will get through to the head...however if there is something stuck in the hose or the smaller holes in the head are plugged it still could act the same...also check that the hose has not come off... there have been cases of the hose coming loose then the steam will not get to the head....you may have to remove the head to actually see that it is not connected properly.

So, first look right inside and check that out, then if that is okay, take out the four screws that hold the swivel joint into the head...then you can take out the last two screws holding the swivel joint to the head...

This will allow you to blow back through the hose to make sure it is not obstructed or to blow the dirt back out... a small wire or pipe cleaners will also work well.

If that is open the take a tooth pick or some small like that and open the holes in the head....blow through the head to make sure that they are open, try to make sure all of the holes are evenly opened so that you get good distribution of the steam to the whole head.

Then replace everything back like it came apart...make sure that you replace the two screws first then drop the swivel into the slots and replace the four screws.

Reinstall the head onto the mop and give it a minute or so to heat up after plugging it in.

Now the steam should be going out the head like it was intended...

If you still do not have any steam from the mop then the heating element has probably has gone bad. As far as I can tell there are no heating parts available for these. You will have to junk your mop and buy a new one.
The mop does have a 1 year warranty and details of that are on the link I have below for the manuals.

How do I clean my iron?

I am assuming that you have scale or lime build up on your iron. Make a solution of half white vinegar and half distilled water. Pour it in the water container on your iron. Turn your iron on its highest setting and set for steam. Wait about 15 minutes and turn off the iron. When water cools pour off the remaining water/vinegar solution. Fill the iron with distilled water and turn on. Let it heat and then cool then pour off that solution. Do this till the poured off water runs clear. If you have scale on the bottom of the iron you can clean that with an old toothbrush dipped into warm white vinegar. There may be easier ways to do this but this is eco friendly and it works the best of anything I have tried.

My Europro shark steam mop won't steam, light on but no steam.

Hard water deposits. I ran some white vinegar through mine, like a coffee maker, and it worked for a while, but clogged again. So I unplugged it, let it cool and turned it over in the bathtub and squirted a small amount of Lime-Away into the hole where the steam comes out. Let it soak for 5- 10 minutes and it is working like is is brand new.

Can't get it open

had same problem. Tried pouring boiling water over cap and it seemed to loosen some so I boiled more water and put the steamer top down in a bowl in the kitchen sink and pour the boiling water in and let it sit about 5 minutes. It came loose with some effort. The grooves are the opening are metal and they had started to corrode.Once open coat with wd40.
