Question about Kitchen Ranges

Open Question

I have a DV209AEW/XAA Samsung front loader dryer. It stopped heating. Will not heat on manual or senor dry but runs fine other than no heat. I tested the thermistor and thermostat on the heating assemble as well as the heater and exausht theristors. None were found bad. I ordered another PCB main and installed it; now the front panel gives odd characters and won't function properly or start the dryer. Maybe I have the wrong PCB? Maybe I should also replace front panel? Please help. Pictures of this part are hard to find. The old one has same model and reference numbers on it and looks identical to the PCB I ordered with one exception. The new one has a diff. number on the chip. I think this is actually the part number I should look for, but when I search for this part I get TV PCB as well and no picture for the one that is for dryer to confirm. Please clarify as to the function of the PCB and front panel and what may cause these problems..

SOURCE: replacing a dual burner control switch

First, have you removed the wires from the old switch?

If not, then look on the switch, old or new, and see if there are numbers on the terminals. If so, just move the wires one at a time, terminal number to terminal number.

If you have removed the wires, then you will need to find the wiring diagram, which is most likely found somewhere inside the unit or on the back panel. You should be able to identify the correct wire connection from the wiring diagram.

If you can reply the full model number, I might can find a wiring diagram for it and give you more direction.

Dryer heats for maybe 1 minute then stops. Samsung Model DV328AGW/XAA

In the rear of the dryer is a thermal limiter which will kick in when the exhaust temp is too high and can cause a fire. One link will show what the limiter looks like and the other will show how to commonly get to the limiter. Your mileage may vary.

My Samsung DV5451AEW/XAA will not dry cloths. The vent tube is not plugged and air flow is great through the whole vent system. How do I get to the heating element?

  • I am assuming this is electric. Yes?
  • Do you get any heat when there is no clothes in it?
  • Have you checked your voltage at the receptacle? If not 220V, if you have the old tube fuses, then one may be blown. If you are getting good heat with no clothes then replace your high limit thermostat. Lots to check before heading for the heating element. As for heating element they are usually either in the back of the tub or a tube on the right hand side of the dryer. You need to take the front panel off.

Under the drum on the right hand side. To get to it you will need to remove the top panel. UNPLUG it. take out the 4 screws that hold the control panel in place. Take out the three screws that hold the Main control board( on the lefthand side). Unhook the control board connectors from the main control board. Remove the control panel. Take off the 2 bottom screws inside the door, take off the 4 screws that hold the front cover plate. Take off front the front cover. Take off the 5 screws that hols the drum plate. Remove it. Remove the belt, and the metal bracket on top. Take out the drum and you will be able to access the element.
