It doesnt really have one. you will have to use the flash button to put call on "hold" or just mute call when needed.

flash will put first line on hold while a second caller is added

technically this is a one line phone and therefore no hold button was needed

Hold button drops calls GE 29488GE2

does this just happen with the one phone ?
if so, try swopping that phone with another of the same type and see if the problem transfers with the phone or remains at the original location, if it transfers, you have a faulty phone, if it remains, you have a fault in the switch associated with that port.

    Hold button doesn't work

If the hold button does not work, it's most likely a well used button that has gotten dirty. If you feel up to it (at your own risk) you can take the phone apart and clean both the circuit board contacts and the rubber keypad for the hold button using rubbing alcohol and a rag, q-tip or Cotton ball. This is not a permanent solution if you keep using that button a lot but it may last for years??
