The return spring inside the ignitor has either slipped or broken. Either way, it's easier and inexpensive to just replace the Ignitor Switch. You can purchase a universal one at any home center or hardware store that sells gas grill parts. Lowe's & Home Depot comes to mind.
The switch spring will go out often in the push button types. it is two wires you will have to disconnect and reconnect when you buy a new one like such --> ( http://www.csgrills.com/Common/Product/CatProduct.aspx?ID=186243&Src=GoogleBase&SrcID=2248467 )
