Question about Kenmore Dryers

1 Answer

I have a kenmore series 90 110 electric dryer that sometimes starts and sometimes does not. If it has not been running it starts right away, however, when I switch loads and go to push start, it sounds like it is going to start, but fails. I have to usually wait for over an hour before I can start again. Otherwise than that everything runs great.

Kenmore 70 series dryer wont start. I was going to replace the start button but cannot figure out how to get it off with out breaking stuff. do i need to pull all the panels off?

There is a switch that sits behind that start button. To get to it, unplug the dryer and pull it away from the wall. There is a metal cover that runs along the upper rear side of the dryer -- remove that and you will see the switch behind that button. You can disconnect the wires going to it (you may want to mark them) and pull the button off of the front of the switch. Then pull that plastic tab up and the switch will pop out if you twist it clockwise.

Kenmore electric dryer 6681290 runs for about 10 minutes then shuts off

HI, When the dryer stops, can you restart it right away? If it will not start right away, your motor is overheating and will need to be replaced.
If I can assist you further, please let me know.

Thanks
Vic

Kenmore 70 series dryer shuts off and won't restart

IT SOUNDS AS THOUGH THE MOTOR IS OVERHEATING AND SHUTTING ITSELF OFF. THAT IS ABOUT THE ONLY THING ON THE DRYER THAT WOULD SHUT IT OFF AND NOT ALLOW IT TO START AGAIN RIGHT AWAY, BUT LET IT START AFTER A WHILE. MAKE SURE THE MOTOR TURNS FREELY. IT SHOULD NOT DRAG OR HUMM WHEN TRYING TO START.
