In the front there should be an "AUX" hole you need to get one of these http://www.amazon.com/AUDIO-3-5MM-JACK-AUXILIARY-CABLE/dp/B001T4SNQO and plug one end in the AUX hole and then the other in to your ipod. Just press the source button to switch from CD or Radio to the AUX.

2 top right look for a usb connector

SOURCE: is there a way to control the ipod song selection

There is a way to do it. I had mine set up so that the iPod was detected as "ext in" and was controlled from the iPod. Unfortunately, I don't remember how I did it, and I recent battery replacement has reset this, which is why I came looking for instructions. If I remember how to do it, I'll post it here.

I am trying to remove an audio 5 stereo from a 2007 merc benz A170 to fit an ipod adapter.

Some Cd players do not have the connections to allow IPOD connector to be added, So i would check Make/Model specs of radio before wasting time removing it to find it cant be fitted with ipod connection.

Ipods are not very user's friendly, using usb to hook up on your system needs a lot ot processing. The simplies way is to use a pair of 3.5mm - RCA patch cord, connect to AUX. or AUDIO IN jack

Ipod control?

You can purchase the KCA-420i and connect it to to the ai-net port behind the headunit. This will allow you to send signal from your ipod to your alpine headunit while still retaining your operating functions to the ipod. Can be purchased for about 10 bucks on ebay.

Hook up ipod to LG stereo LHT784

iPod compatible usually means there's an auxiliary jack available for the iPod, which you can connect to with a 1/8th to 1/8th cable. You can pick up one of those at RadioShack, they're pretty inexpensive.

It connects the headphone jack of your iPod to the stereo.

Hooking up an ipod to the stereo

hi

cord from ipod should connect into amplifier input socket.....the headphone on front of most stereos is an output socket....thats like trying to go in thru the out door ...if you get me,

your stereo might not have a separate input.....they are usually on rear of stereo amplifier in older units

Ipod touch connector

Hello serafineb,

The Alpine Full Speed cable for the iPod supports the following versions:

Fourth generation iPod
Fifth generation iPod
iPod photo
iPod mini
iPod nano

According to their website it does not appear that Alpine currently has a cable for the iPod touch. They do, however, make a "generic" cable for most MP3 players that connects directly to the earphone jack. Although this would not allow you to control the iPod from your stereo's head unit, you should be able to connect the iPod touch via this cable to play music through your car stereo.

More information about the "generic" cable can be found here.

Best Regards,
Ken
