SOURCE: Brother MFC 420cn "Cannot Init"

This is the Head Error 41

Error 41 means there is a major problem with the printhead, usually
requires a print head replacement.

My advice is to take it to a
Brother service centre while if it is under warranty.

If it's out of warranty they are usually a throw away job, the heads cost as much as the printer.

Sorry I know what it feels like, just have a go and see what you can do, clean the heads and so on.

Each Printer has a function to clean the heads and alight the matrix.

Check your user Manual or just use the front panel of your printer and look if you can find it there.

Some top of the line Printers do the cleaning of their heads periodiaclly by itself.

Red ink is blocked how do i clear it

If this machine is under warranty, report it to Brother. It is likely that you need a new printhead but do NOT tell them that your ink is "compatible".
