I cannot get RDM to work without Citrix. A scanned barcode doesn't get to the application the way the scanner reads it. Is this an emulation problem?

My scanner is scanning but why it's not coming in system notepad while scan sound everything is ok fine?

Your scanner may be set/programmed for a mode other than "keyboard wedge". Scanners typically come with a quick start guide with multiple barcodes that you can scan to program the scanner for your particular needs.
If you are trying to scan into Notepad or other text application, you will want to make sure the scanner is in keyboard emulation/wedge mode, and if you want it to have a "return" or "tab" after the scanned barcode, you should have options for that also.
If you have a used scanner and do not have the quick start guide or manual, you will want to look it up and download it from the manufacturers website.

I have magellan 2200vs it works fine but it cant read anything

If the interface is serial RS-232, only a POS software is used to read it into the application. PCs can display a bar code directly only if the interface is USB or PS2 and emulating the keyboard.

Hello, I have a custom application but the scanner won't work with it. is there some way to enable the scanner to tell it to work. I have a quick scan sample app that works fine, but my custon app...

Hello,
there are several ways to use the scanner: you can have an application directly with scanner drivers implemented. Or you can install the application DataWedge provided by the manufacturer.
The DataWedge application will activate the scanner and the decoded barcode is sent as usual keypad input to the system. The application is running in background, so you can have your favourite simple application in foreground and scan data directly.
To download the DataWedge application please go to support.symbol.com website and search for DataWedge, or use this direct link http://support.symbol.com/support/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=12685

I have third party software to initiate scanner functions on the Motorola but they do not work. In fact I cannot even scan without using the "Rapid Deployment Client" provided with the hardware. How do I...

DataWedge is an Application provided by Symbol/Motorola to enable the scanning module also for application without the driver. Scanned barcode is sent like an usual keyboard input.
There can be just one active application using the barcode scanner. If you are running DataWedge, you would need to stop it before starting any other application with built-in scanner drivers.
To stop DataWedge just click on the barcode icon in a right down corner and select - Disable DataWedge

We have the barcodes to scan to emulate the keyboardwe are trying to scan units of blood that are for example 35 S 13048 the scanner reads 1313048..the first part is always messed up any ideas

Without knowing your application or scanner programming I can't be certain but it sounds like the scanner may be reading information on the code that you want parsed out. Check with whomever labels the units to find out exactly what is in the barcode (it's possible the "35 S " is not encoded) and then determine what you need to send to the program you are scanning the information in to. The scanner can be programed to pass along only specific characters that were scanned (i.e. the 13048) and to pre-pend or append additional characters as well (i.e. 35 S ). You'll need the scanner's programming manual to do that. Here's a link to the scanner's programming manual. Choose the first User's Guide on the list:

Symbol PDT 6846 - Scanner won't read 13 digit barcodes (program returns "not on file"). How do we update the scanner application?

This sounds like a programming issue. What application are you using? If you are using a terminal emulation software then you will need to check your host for the issue. If you are using a batch program where the files are stored on the scanner then you will need to check your "validation" files to make sure the code you are scanning is in the scanner.

LS2208 barcode problem on Citrix

You you using USB versions of the device?

What device is hosting Citrix? (Maybe I should rephrase ... what computer is the LS2208 connected to and does it hold a citrix client)

Be advised that Citrix hosted on specialty devices like table pcs are finicky about the keyboard data timing (a synchronous operation)

Possibility #2 is power sag. When that scanner comes on it requires a lot of current, and often USB power (.5 amp max) isn't enough.

If you have a 15 foot USB cable on the scanner try a 6' striaght cable instead of one of the external power supply cables which provides a power pack and more power.
