The yellow light is on on the power brick, but nothing happens when I push power button on console. Is this a bad fuse? If, how do I fix it?

I've got mine all apart because of the unplayable disc error I had to fix. Let me check to see if there's a fuse or something inside that's blown on you...

MY computer will not power up. I have tried pushing the power but nothing. The monitor lights up though. Any suggestions?

Generally a power supply failure. The monitor has either it's own power supply or is fed by a different circuit from the computer.

Tv power button lights up then go's off

Hey Craig,
I've seen this common problem in several models of flat panel TV's, especially 4 to 5 year old Walmart Black Friday specials. The capacitors in the power supply dry out and fail, causing the power supply to fail. When you try to turn the TV on, the power supply refuses to start and the unit shuts off. This problem that the local (in Phoenix) Fry's Electronics sells a power supply capacitor replacement kit for several models of flat panels. If you are compelled to check it out, the units are typically easy to disassemble, and the power supply PCB (printed circuit board) is normally well marked. The caps are blue and/or yellow cylinders, mounted on end. Defective ones, in this use dry out, overheat, and swell up, causing the top to noticeably bulge out. Without knowing more details I would suggest that this is a most likely failure for your TV. Thanks for using fixya. I hope it helps. Dan

LG 32LH30 screen won't power up. Red light at bottom glows hi to low, but no picture. Unplugged and waited overnight, plugged in again, still no picture.

There is a way to tell if you have a bad board, or a bad panel.

1. Make the room dark and turn on the TV. Can you see it light up? If so, does it stay lit or turn right back off?

2. If the panel lights, but you have no picture, I would suspect the T-con. Some units now have the T-con incorporated with the main board, so you will need to check.

3. If you never get any light at all, then I would suspect the power supply.

4. If you only get light for a second or two, then you have a bad panel.

Is my wii turned off? I pressed the power button but there is still a yellowish light. And then the opening for the disks has the blue light that won't shut off. So is it turned off or is something...

The Wii can stay connected to the internet to keep itself and apps, such as the weather and news, current. If you have the yellow light and the glowing blue disc slot, this feature is on.
You can go to the Wii's settings to turn the feature off.

I had cleaned my precision 530 workstation. After cleaning, the compuate doesnot load the BIOS. Even the fans are not getting switched on. But the light on the motherboard glows In the front panle the LED...

please make certain your memory chips are seated into the mainboard. Also, make sure that your mainboards power cable, and your CPU's power cable (the small yellow and black one) are secured to the board. If your components are secured to the board correctly, you may have an issue with the board, CPU, or power supply. If your pc is under warranty, I suggest you contact Dell for troubleshooting.

Dell 3100 will not turn on.THere is a yellow light on motherboard

If you are getting an orange light on the motherboard the power supply is not the point of failure. Its good to power off the computer when not in use. it will not only save power but also reduce depreciation to the hardware due to heat. Getting back to the issue. Check the status of the power light on the tower. if it is blinking try to reseat the memory power connectors on the motherboard and any PCI cards and video cards. If reseating all components does not help try powering on the computer with the parts discoonected, If still no go it is a possible motherboard failure.

Rate if useful.

Computer won't power on

If the light is glowing yellow that normally means a bad power supply. You can check this with a volt meter or you can replace the power supply unit if this is a desktop.

Wireless phone extension not working on receiver. Red light and horrible sound hen connection is attempted

You need to register the unit it will work:
Make sure the Base Unit is switched on and has a Green light showing.
2. Unplug everything connected to the Base Unit sockets (you will reconnect them later).
3. Plug the Extension Unit into a power point near the Base Unit, switch on the power and watch the light on the Extension Unit.
4. If the light on the Extension Unit is not glowing a steady Red then the Extension Unit must first be deregistered. Follow Step A and Step B in
the Deregistering an Extension Unit box below then try to register the Extension Unit again.
5. Plug one end of a supplied line cord into to either socket on the Base Unit and plug the other end into the extra Extension Unit
(This cord is used to do the actual registering).
6. The light on the Extension Unit will glow Red for up to a minute and then change to Green or Yellow.
7. Once you have the Green or Yellow light on the Extension Unit, unplug the line cord between the Base Unit and the Extension Unit
(You can unplug the Extension Unit – it will remember being registered).
8. Plug in everything that used to be connected to the Base Unit sockets.
9. Install the extra Extension Unit as per the Extension Unit Installation steps on the other side of this page.
