With cathode raid televisions this is common in older units. the screens deteriate overtime and eventually fail. honestly, i would recommend purchasing a new television. as repairs for crt televisions are costly as parts are not made anymore.

Pvm 2530 turns reddish color soon after turned on

This might be a CRT base card fault. Replace the CRT connecting socket at this card. The fault technically called as 'one color predominant screen'. If you wish to get some more details about this kind of fault to CRT TVs, check this link. Pull up older posts there. One among these posts have detail descriptions.

i used to be a tv sounds like an intermitent fault, which only does it sometimes.most likely cause is dry joints on circuit board, which is faded or discoloureded solder.try resoldering dry joints ,faded or discoloured solder on circuit its an intermitent problem so it sounds like dry joints on circuit board which is faded solder, which means only half of the current is passing through the circuit..resoldering will allow the full current to go through circuit.

Does an old PHD cause faded colors?

the PHD transfers the image to the printed page and when it starts to go bad the images can become dull or faded and even blurry or totally missing. Id recommend the PHD be replaced and it should resolve your issues.

After watching for about 10 min the screen loses color and fades to black..there is still sound..sometimes it comes back on

That can be one of two items. First would be the small signal board as that has a history with the ITC222 series. The other board could be the deflection board haveing a vertical deflection issue which is shutting down the CRTs and allowing audio to run.

your deflection board needs replacement. You need the ITC222A deflection board. You can get one from which comes with the CD with instructions.

CRT color moitor

The "terrable loud high pitch sound" could be the horz. oscillator.
The voltages off the crt should be (+) (-) 11v to 15v DC. Too much on Blue & Red guns will cut them off
