I recently bought a second hand spherex system and all was going well until the cable which connects the amp to the IR receiver broke - basically the end has come off and it looks like a nightmare to solder back together. as inside the cable it looks like its full of super-glue! Anyway does anyone know where I can buy a replacement cable? I am in the UK.
After looking for this cable and talking to some of my friends - I was able to determine what type of cable it is. it is called a Mini din 9 pin male to male.
Molded Cable, Mini din 9 Pin Male to Male, 6.0 feetI bought from this guy - http://www.stockcable.com/products.php?pid=17&detail=true#thumb
hopefully you fellas from across the pond can find a place to purchase it.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

You can call Audio Products International direct at 416-321-6211 and order one. There is a repair centre in Toronto, Ontario that replaces remotes for the Spherex XBOX 5.1 and also does repairs. It is called "All-in-one Electronics" and it's number is 416-789-0668. I read that the sound system you have has been discontinued, so this may not be an easy fix. Hope one of the places above can help you.
Hi there bud ....What i suggest is , if you still have a warranty , send it in and see what they can do....Otherwise Compare the price of a repair and a price of a new one...and there you go :) Happy new year
If the xbox is not able to recognise the usb, it is most likely that the product is not compatible with the xbox i would look for an adapter which would take the usb connection to the xbox's analog connection, or if your speakers have a stero 2.5 connection then you can easily find an adapter to connect to the xbox's analog connection in the back, the analog connection is the red and white ports at the back!.
call spherex416 321 6211 when you call they will say its api (audio products international) and say you have lost your remote to your spherex xbox suround sound and they will transfer you to the parts department or ask to be transfered then tell the person there you would like to buy a spherex remote and the guy told me its about $14and plus shiping he said is $25 idk why shipping is so expensive. but i did not order yet because i dont have my debit card yet and the problem with me was i dropped my remote while music was playiong then it wouldnt turn it on or off or do anything for that matter but the led still lit up along with the ir led because i checked with my camera so im buying a new one i just hope that i broke when i droped it not something else and i took it apart theres like nothing in it that could brake lol i hope this helps it was long i know sorry.
first things first:
1) replace the board with another, if you has warranty.
2) RMS the xbox for a board fix. (paying for that)
3) you can take it to the repair electronic store, they sometimes have the schematics
Mr. Vargas is right mine also won't turn on and upon further inspection I found burn discoloration on the boad where the two power cables are connected. The burn spot is where the four diodes are locaed and the big power cable connection. I am not sure how to replace these diodes or where to find them. Never done this stuff but will try for sure. Please post if you have any suggestions. thanks
