Glad to HELP YOU!

To RESTORE your system as it was out from the factory (if I got it right...) and if you have the RESTORING CDs you have to do like this:

### insert the first CD (if are many) in the tray ###
1. RESTART your machine
2. when the LOGO SCREEN appears press F8 or F10 or F11 (it depends on each brand) and select the BOOTING MEDIA - in your case the CD MEDIA/DVD MEDIA
3. select FACTORY RESTORING or DEFAULT RESTORING or SYSTEM RESTORE
4. follow the instructions as they will appear on your screen
5. let the machine reinstall its system

You're done!

WARNING: WHEN YOU WILL REINSTALL THE SYSTEM YOU WILL LOOSE ALL YOUR FILES FROM THE HARD DRIVE!
So save on an external hard drive or on some DVDs your precious files.

My best wishes!

If you still have the original installation/setup CDs that came with it, you can use those. Stick the CDs in (normally says RESTORE), and follow the instructions. Otherwise, you are stuck with ordering it online or manually "UNINSTALLING" the additional software that was added. Please do not go into your hard drive and begin deleting software, you need to go through the "uninstall" process to remove software.

How do you go about to format a toshiba l650 and reinstall windows 7

Hi! If you have the Windows 7 disc just insert it restart the computer. It will boot directly from the disc. Then follow the step by step instructions here.
If you don't have the Windows 7 disc, you have two ways to reformat your Toshiba computer.
Using Toshiba HDD Recovery Utility from the recovery partition
In case of a hard disk drive failure, you may be able to restore the drive to the factory default state using the on-disk Toshiba HDD Recovery Utility (in a special partition on the hard disk drive).
You can select restoring the entire hard disk drive to the factory default state, or restoring only the C: drive -- without affecting other partitions (for example, a D: drive) -- or changing the size allocated to your C: drive, and then restore it.
To recover your hard disk drive from a system failure using the utilities stored on your computers HDD, follow these steps:
  1. If the computer is running, shut it down -- by clicking Start, Shut Down, and again Shut Down.
  2. Press and hold the 0 (zero) key on your keyboard and then press the computers power switch. When the computer turns on, the Toshiba HDD Recovery Utility screen will appear, presenting three options:

Restore Original Factory Image (Recommended)
CAUTION:
Restoring a hard disk drive to its factory default state deletes all partitions on the hard disk drive and all data stored on those partitions. All of your files and information will be lost! Be sure to back up all important files first.
  1. Press 1 to restore your hard disk drive to its original factory default state. A confirmation message will appear, indicating that all data will be overwritten and lost during the restore process. Be sure to back up all important files before proceeding.
  2. Click Yes to begin the recovery. A message will appear once the operation is finished, indicating the HDD has been restored.
  3. Press any key to restart the computer.
* The options 2 & 3 are for advanced users.
Hard Disk Drive Recovery using Recovery CDs or DVDs
You may also wish to to run the Toshiba HDD Recovery Utility from Recovery CDs or DVDs that you have created.

Insert the first Recovery CD or DVD into your CD/DVD drive, and turn on the computer. Once the computer is running, the TOSHIBA HDD Recovery Utility screen will appear, presenting the same three options above. Again Press 1 to
restore your hard disk drive to its original factory default state. Click Yes to begin the recovery. Press any key to restart the computer.

Installing Drivers and Applications
The TOSHIBA Application Installer allows you to reinstall the drivers and applications that were originally bundled with your computer.
To reinstall drivers and applications:
  1. Double-click the "Toshiba Application Installer" icon on the Windows desktop. This utility may also be launched by clicking Start -->All Programs --> Hard Disk Recovery Utilities.

    htd7c02140000r0136067.jpg

  2. Click "Next".
  3. Click the item(s) you wish to install. To select multiple items, hold down the Ctrl key as you click your selections.
  4. Click "Install".
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation process.

Hope this helps.

Restored laptop to previous date due to virus protector jumping on my screen and not letting me operate the laptop. Let laptop sit while it restored, and went straight to black screen. What can I do?

If you have sensitive and important data here, best solution is to get your harddrive to your local IT specialist for backup and then Windows reinstall.
But if you dont have any important data on it just reinstall Windows and it should be OK If reinstall dont solve your problem then it might be a hardware related problem

When i try to install the sound driver in thinkcnter m55e 9637 model at that time one problem is accurs "HDA is required and not found plz re-install the driver" i have win 7 os and i also try to other os...

high definition audio = HDA

i would restore the system to factory settings : simply use your recovery CDs to restore that unit to factory default settings

if you dont have the CD recovery, go here http://restoredisks.com/ -- it will cost money to retrive these CDs , but its inexpensive comparatively speaking

Install back up cd's

Data is just data.

If your laptop is working correctly, then just insert the CD, and copy files from the CD onto the hard-drive.

If you created "system-restore" CDs, they can be used only to "restore" the factory-setup on the SAME computer, not a different computer, i.e., your laptop.

Packard bell restore new Hdu

From parkard bell suppport website Quote

"Step 4 - Re-installing your software
Call the help desk and ask them to guide you through the
ExtHS process.
Please have your Recovery CDs to hand when you call
the Easy Repair line.

Once you have completed the ExtHS process you will
need to re-install Windows and the other software supplied
with your Packard Bell computer. To do this follow the
steps below:
1. Disconnect all peripheral devices (web cam, printer,
scanner, broadband modem etc.).
2. Insert the Packard Bell Master CD 1 / DVD in the top
CD / DVD drive and restart your computer.
3. The CD will load and display the following message:
Please refer to the section headed Packard Bell
Recovery Program in your user’s guide for instructions
on this utility. Press OK if you want to continue
or Cancel to return to DOS.
4. Press the letter O on your keyboard to continue.
5. You will see a menu with options. Please select option 1
“Standard System Restore”
by pressing the 1 key on
your keyboard.
6. A warning message about data loss will be displayed.
Press the letter O to continue.
7. The process will take around 40 minutes. Once this is
done you will need to restart your PC. Remove the CDs
and store them in a safe place.
8. If there was a Software Library DVD supplied with your
PC you can use this to install the extra software that was
supplied with your computer. Insert this into the drive
and follow the onscreen instructions.
9. Finally, you will need to install any additional devices
(web cam, printer, etc.) and software by following the
instructions supplied with them."

Problem

Without your restore CD you'll have to purchase WinXP. You could phone tech support and see if they'll ship you a replacement restore CD, or find another T2240 and see if they'll let you copy theirs. The eMachines restore CDs and model-specific.

Another option is to install a freee OS like Ubuntu or Kbuntu.

Good luck.

NTI CD DVD GOLD

The recovery cds will make your laptop as it is when you bought it or how they sold it to you, before using the recovery cds, take a backup of your data files on a external hard disk, pendrive or CD/DVD. then use the recovery cd.

Dont use the recovery cds, unless you dont have another choice.
