I think that's the way it's supposed to be. If you want it to move smooth you have to press down the mouse wheel and drag then mouse into thedesired direction.
At least it's like that on Windows 7.

Screen keeps scrolling

usually screens will scroll like that if you have accidentally pushed down on the middle mouse button - you will see a circle with a double ended arrow in it. Moving the mouse in any direction will make the page scroll up or down indefinitely until you deactivate the scroll or move your mouse to the centre of the screen where page stops scrolling but is still active.

How do i scroll with touchpad in sony vaio vpccw21fx

Step 1:
The scrolling feature on a laptop touchpad can take some getting used to, which causes some users to disable the feature. Whether scrolling was intentionally turned off or never enabled on the laptop, it can easily be turned on from the "Mouse Properties" menu.

Click "Start" (or the Windows logo button in Vista and Windows 7) and select "Control Panel." Select "Classic View" in Vista if not already displayed. Double click "Mouse." You may also access "Mouse Properties" in Vista and Windows 7 by clicking the Windows logo and typing "Mouse" in the search box. Press "Enter," then click "Mouse" when the search is finished. Select the "Hardware" tab. Select the touchpad and click "Properties." Click "Change Settings" if the settings aren't displayed. Click the "Device Settings" tab in Windows 7 and select the touchpad. Click "Settings." Click "Virtual Scrolling" in the touchpad properties window. Click the boxes next to each "Enable Scrolling" box and click "OK." Scrolling is now turned on for your touchpad.

Cursor constantly scrolling on compaq notebook

Step 1:
The touchpad of Hewlett Packard Compaq notebook computers comes equipped with vertical and horizontal scroll capabilities. Dragging your finger on the top or side of the touchpad will scroll in windows equipped with scrollbars. This feature takes some getting used to if you're used to a regular mouse or a wheel equipped mouse. If you prefer to not have vertical and horizontal scrolling performed from the touchpad, one or both features can be disabled.

Double-click the red Synaptics icon on your task bar. If it's not displaying, open the Control Panel and click on "Mouse" in Windows XP. In Windows Vista/7, type "Mouse" in the search field of the "Start" menu and click on the Mouse result. Click on the "Device Settings" tab and then click on the "Settings" button. The Properties for Synaptics TouchPad dialog box will appear. Click on "Virtual Scrolling" in the "Select an Item" box on the left. Clear one or both scrolling features in the "Virtual Scrolling" section. Click "Apply," and then "OK."

My scroll bar at the right ofmy mouse pad stoped working what do i do

  • Click the Windows Start button, select "Settings," and then click "Control Panel."
  • Step 2 Double-click the icon labeled "Mouse."
  • Step 3 Select the Touchpad properties tab. The labeling of this tab varies, depending on your computer manufacturer, operating system version and the device drivers installed on your machine. Common labels include "Touch Pad," "Device Settings" and "Dell Touchpad." If you do not see this option, you may not be able to turn on scrolling for your laptopmag-glass_10x10.gif; skip the remaining steps and refer to the "Warnings" section below.
  • Step 4 Click the "Settings" button within the Touchpad Properties menu and look for the section labeled "Scrolling Settings" or similar. Enable scrolling within this section and define other scroll settings, such as scroll zone width and scrolling speed.
  • Step 5 Click "OK" to confirm your changes, and then close the Control Panel windows opened in the previous steps. The scrollbar on your laptopmag-glass_10x10.gif is now enabled.

Scrolling Problem Following Windows SP3 Installation

This is obviously a driver fault, unless by coincidence the mouse is failing.

For a start, try uninstalling the driver, and then re-installing it back.
