I ned to access the network setting information

Assuming the wireless Linksys routers use the same approach the best way to get the info you want would be to pull up the router admin page in a browser.

On a PC open up the Start Menu and click on Control Panel. Once there find the subheading under "Network and Internet" that says 'View network status and tasks" and click on that. You should have a list of networks on there. Find the wireless network you are using (typically Wireless or the name of the router) and click the link to the right of the "Connections" text (towards the right of the window). That should pop-up a new window "Wireless Connection Status" or similar. Press the 'Details' button.

This should get you a lot of info that you don't need, but scroll through and look for the "IPv4 Default Gateway" and note down the IP address (e.g. listed there. Open up a browser such as Firefox or Google Chrome and enter that IP address into the address bar. This should get you to the admin page for your router, enter the admin password if there is one.

Alternatively if all you were looking for was the general info on IP addresses and DNS servers the Network Connections Details page where the IP address was found should have all the information you need.

When I type in the IP address and hit enter it just 'thinks' for around 2 mins then i get the IE cannot display page message up...Is there a reason why i cant get onto my routers page...

First off, make sure the management IP is indeed
to do that start > run > cmd > type "ipconfig" and press enter, the Default Gateway's IP address is the router's IP address.
second step, ping it. you should get a replay back
lastly, if you still cannot open the management page, the issue is probably with your browser, one common reason is a configured proxy server on the browser, remove it.
for Internet Explorer: Tools > Internet options > "connections" tab > press "LAN Settings" > uncheck all three checkboxes there.

I Hope this helps

I forgot the link to set up my password for my wifi smart bro

Most routers are set up to use IP address of .1 for the administrative page. To determine the network subnet, and then the IP address of your router, do the following:

1. Open up a command box by going to Start, Run... and enter cmd into the box and press the Enter key.
2. Type ipconfig into the commend box and press the Enter key.
3. Look for an entry that says Default Gateway. It will look something like this:

Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . :

This is the address of your router.
4. Go yo your web browser and then type in the address of your default gateway, making sure to put "http://" in front of it, in the address bar and press the Enter key. So, in our example, you would enter "" into your address bar.
5. Done! You should be at your routers website.
