My new Advent ADE-AD2 keyboar and mouse do not work;
The software installs okay and the PC recognises this with "New hardware installed and ready to use".
The toolbar shows features such as CAPS lock etc. in reference to the new keyboard.
The new batteries are correctly in and the switch on the underside of the mouse is in the on position, but the red LASER on the underside of the mouse does not show any visible signs of being on.
The USB reciever is directly plugged into the PC tower.
Niether the new mouse nor the keyboard work, though my old ones obviously do. How do I get these products to work?

This is a common problem. With our new Aspire Z5610 we pressed the reset button under the keyboard but the problem came back from time to time. To be be honest the design of the Aspire keyboard and mouse is rubbish. Went out and bought a new Advent wireless keyboard and mouse in sleek aluminium design - works a treat and no problems so far. Cost £35 from PC World.
there are no drivers for that but there are ones for xp so try googling advent ade-ad2 xp drivers and downloading and installing them if it does not work you will not be able to use you keyboard untell someone comes out with and vista/7 driver for it
This problem was happening on my system but i managed to fix it easily! What has happened is your itouch software has become corrupt so it will only recognise your keyboard thus the usb connection. You will need to download/install off disc onto your computer again but do NOT go to uninstall program manager on windows as it will not appear there because even though you can access the itouch configuration panel, the database is corrupt and the administrative system will not recognise this. Just download/install via disc and it will just install with no alerts unlike most programs which will recognise the program is already installed onto the system. Once the setup is 92% it will freeze for a second then the found new hardware window will appear on screen go through that process and your mouse is back to normal and your keyboard will work via itouch software.
(Please note that this will only work on windows)
I've actually just bought a new keyboard and mouse (Today!) because I could not get my advent ade-ad2 to work at all on vista, (Previously had it on my xp).
Thought I'd give it one last try as PC world were no help this morning and previous internet searches were no help either.
Soooo. after the usual on/off...push in little button on underside etc.etc...the only thing that I did different was press the "wake" button on the keyboard.
do you have an Infra Red device that is installed on your main PC. Because most laptops have infra Red devices and as well with bluetooth connectivity to function your wireless keyboard and mouse.. Go to my computer icon, right click on it then left click properties then go to device manager then check for additional devices.
