Hello there,

First, you obviously need a new user manual / handbook. You can download the manual for the LC-26AD5E direct from sharp by clicking on the following link.

http://www.tradenet.sharp.co.uk/tech/fromcorp.asp?ID=98826

If you have any difficulty downloading, saving or printing the manual, please let me know. If you are unable to open the file, you will also need to download and install Adobe Reader on your PC:

Connecting the LG Blu-ray player to the TV should be fairly simply. It would help to know the model number of the LG Blu-ray player, it's not vital.

Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI OUT socket on the back of the Blu-ray player, then connect the other end to one of the HDMI sockets (EXT 5 or EXT 6) under the removable panel on the rear of the TV. Finally, you need to select the correct INPUT on the TV . . .

1. Press the INPUT button on the Sharp remote (below 9)

2. Press the DOWN arrow key on the Sharp remote repeatedly until the small arrow points to either EXT 5 or EXT 6 - (depending on which HDMI socket you connected to on the back of the TV).

3. Press the OK key on the Sharp remote.

That should be all you need to do. If it's still not working, try using the other HDMI socket on the back of the TV and make sure select the relevant EXT input on the TV as above.

Hope this helps. If you still can't get it to work, please reply to me by clicking on "Add a Comment" below your question and let me know the model number of the LG Blu-ray player.

Regards,
BElectric.

No - problem - glad I could help.

This TV doesn't have HDMI CEC so you have to select the input manually. HDMI CEC enables the TV to switch to an HDMI input automatically when you switch on the Blu-ray player or play a disc. Most SCART connections had this feature but it's not available on all HDMI devices.

Sharp Aquos LC42d64u has blurry picture...

Hi,

Is it slow and blurry? if yes then return it to warranty immediately. The video processing circuits are malfunctioning and the repair cost is prohibitive if you must pay for it on your own.

I hope it is still under warranty. So, do not delay getting it into the Sharp Authorized facility or back to the retailer you purchased it from.

The connection cable you use could have something to do with it, but is should work on all formats. The best for reliability and absence of blocking is just analog composite - but that is also the lowest picture resolution. S-video is okey too, but it is analog as well. Component is the highest grade; going to hdmi is just another way of receiving the signal - I don't think it will effect the error correction problem in any way. My opinion.

Goodluck..

You can connect it by any way to your BDP. There are cables to connect in between. HDMI, S-Video & AV. After connecting these cables with your TV, select the appropriate selection to video by TV.

My Sharp Aquos LC-40E67UN is plugged into a Sony Blu Ray home theatre system BDV-IZ1000W. It is hooked up with an HDMI cable. I get sound but no picture on the TV. If I unplug and replug the HDMI cable...

Wow it seems as though you've pretty much done all of the applicable troubleshooting for this issue. The only other thing I can advise in this case is to consider purchasing a SD card. Some Blu Ray players require a little extra memory to function properly so they come with an SD card slot. Of course no one tells you this when you buy the player but it may be the solution to your problem.

I can't play movies on my tv

Okay, this monitor setup is a little strange. There is an "AVC" component with this monitor that you use to connect everything. There is a 4 cable string (power, s-video, DVI, display port) that connects the AVC unit to the monitor. You must have all external equipment connected to the AVC unit, not to the TV itself. The connections on the TV talk to the AVC unit. I will assume you will be connecting the Blu-ray player via HDMI. HDMI is on input 4 on the back of the AVC unit. hit the input button on the remote or the TV and select input 4. There is a way of customizing the inputs to read out what you have connected to them (ex. DVD, VHS, etc.) to make it easier to use. This should get you signal from your blu-ray

Sharp Aquos 46" HDMI problem

I have a similar problem. The Sharp TV aquos appears to be shutting down my blue ray player and dvd recorder when connected via HDMI. They work fine and never close down when I connect them via the rca cables either single video connection or a composite 3 cable rca lead. I have 3 HDMI inputs on the tv and the problem occurs on all 3. Any suggestions?

Well, there is a way to have the clearest possable picture. Get HD cable TV box that is HDMI compatable and watch only HD channels. Or buy a blu-ray player, hook it up via HDMI and only watch blu-ray disc in 1080p!

Can not get my new 42 " Aquos TV to work with my new blue ray DVD

A blu ray player will play on any television. The television might not however have the highest resolution to display the full capability of a blue ray. That being said, the blu ray player may be faulty the connections may be incorrect. I would recommend running an HDMI cable from the A/V out on the blu ray to the HDMI input on the TV. GOod Luck
