My webcam philips spz 2000 does not work with Skype.the led on the camera starts ,but i don t have the image

SKYPE VIDEO PROBLEM
To test if the WEBcam is functioning, check the USB cable; make sure itis connected properly. Then click on Start - All Program - Logitech - Logitech QuickCam and see if you can get the camera to capture yourimage/video.If this works then thefault is with the Skype configuration. Sometimes the WEBcam settings drop offand the WEBcam need to be selected again. Open Skype - Tools - Options - VideoSettings and select the WEBcam Also check the AudioSettings for the Microphone THEN click on Save.Avoid connecting the WEBcamto an USB hub.

click start control panel view devices and printers you should see your webcam from there
if you are have trouble with your webcam

click start control panel administrive tools ,computer management ,device manager scroll down image devices you could see a yellow question mark?
right click to reinstall drivers or
update driver

All you can do is to try and find a later driver or maybe download an earlier version of Skype.

Connect your cam
> Start > Control Panel > Classic View > Device Manager - Open the 'Imaging file' - Right click on the text of your webcam and select Internet when prompted - Wait and see if a later driver is available.

There maybe a patch available with a later driver
Go to Device Manager, Expand 'Imaging' folder and right click on your webcam text. 'Update driver' and use internet option.

Check your webcam is set to default in Skype

Start Skype.

On the Tools menu, click Options.

In the navigation pane of the Skype Options window, click Audio Settings.

Select your logitech device as the default microphone. For example, select Logitech + model#.( if it has mic )

In the navigation pane of the Skype Options window, click Video Settings.

Select your Logitech device as the default Webcam. For example, select Logitech + model #

Click Save.

Failing that check if you have the latest version of Skype

yeah cameras need to be setup for each messenging service
so i'm glad you solved it

Web Camera’s have to be setup on the program they are to be used with. Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up to broadcast on messengers or Skype.
Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for the Audio and Video to function properly.

Skype Setup:
After downloading and installing Skype (http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/download/skype/windows/beta/downloading/) set it up as follows:

1. Go to Tools, then Options, and click on Audio Settings and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
2. Then click on the Video Settings.
3. The camera if Installed Properly will come up and show a video picture.
4. Then, on the bottom of the page click on Save.

The camera and audio should function properly. Your friends and Family will now be able to see and her to you.

webcam can only be used by one program at a time - make sure any program or window showing the camera image is closed, then see if it works with Skype

I need the driver for this webcam spc110nc to work with skype.

Guys I got one (SPC110NC ) today and it behaved as follows

1. Plug and play .. so windows XP (SP2) recognised it instantly.
2. images were recorded from the general webcam application (defaalu XP one ).
3. Skype however gave the error that was somewhat like " Skype cannot access ur webcam etc ..."

Apparently for Skype 3 and higher u need a special driver .. which u can get at

The user manual doesnot specify the exact url of the drivers , though it specifies the need of installing them.

Get the driver , install it and skype hopefully will work fine. it worked for me after this 30 min exercise ...

This camera is a problem. I download the driver and never function. Is better change it for another brand.
