Question about EliteGroup ECS GeForce6100SM-M (1.0) Socket AM2/ MCP61S/ SATA2/ A&V&L/ MATX Motherboard

1 Answer

We have a GeForce6100SM-M graphics card connected to our PC operating Windows XP with service pack 2. Until recently we were operating a dual screen system with a monitor and projector, however the projector has been removed while the system was set up for two screens. Now when we boot up, the main TFT screen is blank as the graphics card is searching for the projector and we are having trouble resetting the card to a single screen. We've tried in VGA and safemode and this has not allowed us to access the graphic card software. PLEASE HELP!!

You should have 2 video ports on the 8400 GS card. One is the standard 15 pin VGA port and the other is the DVI port. You should be able to use these ports on the card to connect dual monitors. If you use the video port integrated on the motherboard you will bypass the 8400 GS card. Here's a link from Microsoft about running dual displays:
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/organization/twomonitors.aspx
The other issue is whether your monitors are DVI compatible.

SIR, I WANT TO KNOW HOW TO CHECH AND

hi firstly, the only way to increase your video card memory will be to purchase a pci-e graphics card for your system, system memory could do with putting up if you are playing games as that amount will just about run windows itself, if you have an onboard graphics card these are not very good to play top end games like COD MW2, and things like that, get a 1 gb graphics card for your system this should play 99% of all games out there, and as i said get more system memory at least 2gb ddr2 is what you need especially as you have a dual core this will help you allot, there is a site that has very good priced graphic cards here..www.ebuyer.com try them hope this helps..ps i am a gamer myself..

Please run the ncx2000xp update now or uninstall in the control panel/ software the latest windows hotfix service patch

I suppose you have a counterfeit hardware for an original Ncomputing software built-in. The only solution to that is NOT TO UPDATE YOUR WINDOWS XP SERVICE PACK 2. Once you updated your Windows XP, your PC Station users cannot connect to your SERVER anymore.

If you have done the updates, just UNINSTALL the updates.

What driver to download???

Hi leovanhelden,

I've seen the S3 site, they are a little confusing when it comes to picking the correct driver. I'd go HERE which is really just a Via arena that you can pick the OS, and away you go.

Good Luck

Hi Pat, Sounds like a faulty video card to me. If the machine or video card is still under warranty talk to the manufacturer as they should replace any faulty hardware. If it's not under warranty I would suggest you swap the video card with another one if you have one or replace it entirely. Good luck, Bernard
