Usually there are 3 or 4 tabs that have to be unclipped from the other half of the vacume and then you can lift the top off to empty the bottom and clean the filter.

WHAT MUST i DO TO SUCTION WATER? I DID THIS ONCE AND IT ATE AWAY THE FILTER. DO I NEED TO REMOVE THE FILTER WHEN I SUCTION WATER?

remove filter! please empty the unit as mixing dust/dirt with water can start to hack on the motor as the filter is removed during wet pick up where at the beginning you have dust flying around inside recovery tank. make sure to rinse and dry recovery tank before rreplacing filter.

Hi there I have a Shop.Vac QS800 57519-63 its about 6 years old. I don't have manual for it & want to know how I can use it in the wet mode Thanks for your help. Jasper

To use a shop vac to **** up water you just need to remove the filter element inside. open it up just as if you were going to empty out the dirt and on the top center you will see a filter. unscrew the retaining nut on the bottom and remove filter. After unit is dry and you are done using it in the wet mode replace the filter and put the retaining nut back on.

Bought house. Inherited shop/vac. A bit old, but

If you are going to use the wet vac to remove water, be sure to remove the bag inside the canister first. Also, some wet vacs have an internal float that has to be installed, but that may not be the case with yours.

You **** up water the same way as dirt. It's designed this way, hence the name wet/dry. Just be sure not to get the water in the very top of the unit where the motor sucks the air for cooling ventilation, if water gets in there it can burn up the motor. A little hard way, personal experience, speaking there.

Shop-vac i lost book

open the top of the vacuum. remove ONLY the filter element. There should be a ball about a two inch diameter inside the cage. It's purpose is to shut off the vacuum flow when water reaches a high in the canister.
