Miller Bobcat(Gas)machine AC output to aux. power receptacles, does not meet required voltage. Only 70% required voltage 120 and 240.


On a Bobcat, the big knob needs to be turned all the way up to 10. If it is, then the engine speed (RPM) might be too slow at fast speed.

My miller 175 wire feed does not feed wire at low number settings


Usually, the drive motor voltage is derived from the weld voltage, so if you lose, the weld voltage, the motor will not turn. Feed some wire out in a setting that works, then switch to one that doesn't feed, and see if the wire will arc. If you have a voltmeter, check for DC voltage at the polarity changover. Might be a bad voltage range switch.

Miller roughneck 2e has low voltage 0ut of 120 volt receptacle only 5 volts at idle and 45 volts under power


have the alternator checked by an electrician
a t idle will be low as the exciter circuit will be producing low volts but it should go up when at operating rpms
45 volts at rpms indicates that the field windings of the alternator are not getting full current to produce the desired out put

I plug in my miller 304 cc cv welder, 220 voltage, the numbers flash randomly, wont balance out, wont weld, any solution


What does the voltage window display? If it is reading open circuit voltage then check your leads. You could have a front control board failed if not. You should probably take it to a miller tech to have pre power checks performed.

I think your TV set has a short circuit in the RGB output circuit and shuts down or mute to protect the CRT. This circuit is located in small board attached to the CRt neck. If you are keen on electronics or you have a fried that is, you can mesure the voltages in the collectors of the three big transistor mounted on that board. The voltages of these transistor collectors are slightly diferent and the faulty one has low or even no voltage. It should be replaced.

Miller mig welder #175 stopped welding, fan comes on and wire does feed, just no weld.


This usually happens when the main Power semiconductors fail. You need to check out the two main places, the Power Supply, make sure ALL voltages are correct, and the main Output semiconductors, check these to make sure they are Not open circuit or short circuit.

Miller S-54D 115V digital wire feeder that does not weld right.


Hi Kevin,
Causes of poor penetration: Travel speed too fast, welding current too low,
poor joint design / and or preparation, electrode diameter too large,
wrong type of electrode, excessively long arc length.
Solutions: Decrease travel speed, increase welding current, increase root
opening or decrease rootface, use smaller electrode, use electrode with deeper
penetration characteristics, reduce arc length.
