Question about SYMA Toys industrial New Syma S107 Radio Remote Control Helicopter

1 Answer

My S107 worked fine the fist 5 minute flight. On my second attempt nothing would happen. The green light on the controller just blinks. Occasionally when I turn them both on the chopper just takes off without me even touching the controller. Please help.

Seems like your controller is not working. Try to change its batteries.
With new batteries try the following:
1. Turn the controller ON. Wait until green light stops blinking.
2. Turn the helicopter ON.
3. Give it throttle few times until it starts working.

Sometimes controller can still work even if has a blinking light. But these cases are very rare.

I bought a Syma S107 and have enjoyed flying it immensely. I would plug it in to keep it fresh, recharged, and ready-to-fly. Recently, I found that it suddenly wouldn't climb more than an inch high...

Li/Po batteries are meant to be stored charged, so that shouldn't be an issue. Were you leaving it plugged into the charger? This is not the best idea. Not only will it likely slowly sap the battery's ability to hold a charge, if, by some freak happenstance, both the PCB (overcharge protection) in the battery and the one in the charger were to both fail...
More common than anything I've come across regarding battery death is proper care. These small, lightweight, high output Li/Po batteries NEED to be cooled for 10 minutes after flight, and ALSO after charging. And most important, never drain them completely. As soon as your helicopter cannot maintain altitude, land and power it off. Cool 10, charge until fully charged, (light on charger at it's brightest) cool another 10, fly. Rinse and repeat.
Note: the batteries on the s107 are tricky to replace, micro soldering is required. Sadly, unless you have soldering equipment and know-how you'll probably just have to but another one. If you do, look for the s107's with the pink and green motors, not the black and white ones. Amazon sells the pink/green ones, and is the only place I've found them, look for the ones with "Amazon Inc" as the vendor, and check the pictures. The black/white ones are fine, (I have 3) great even. The pink/green and faster, lighter, far more agile, and are good for a minute or two more flight time based on my experience.

Good Luck, and I hope this helps,

Air hogs pocket copter, brand new. Inserted brand new batteries into charger and controller per instructions. Plug the helicopter into charger and led blinks red as stated. About two or three minutes into...

You bought a defective mini copter, the internal micro relay is malfunctioning and I hope you could bring it back where you bought it. Replace it with a new one and let them try to test flight it before you go home.

Hope that helps you out.

Hello:Try this procedure: turn key on, turn to start, let key come back to on wait ten minutes, turn key off wait 10 seconds turn key back on wait 10 minutes. turn key off wait 10 seconds turn key back on wait 10 minutes turn key off wait 10 seconds NOW try and start. In addition you might try tapping on switch assembly while trying to start. There is not any way to disable passlock. You might try having the engine control system codes read

Hi, my syma s107 worked great for many flights, still has about 7 minute flight time but not getting any altitude.thinking motor wear? any suggestions.thanks

Very important with these motors and the batteries is a solid 5-10 minute rest after charging and after flying. Make sure the shaft is fully seated. Push it down firmly (but gently) both above and below bottom rotor.

Let me know if this doesn't help.

I have 3 s107 and I it says 3 channel on the box and the transmitter says A B C but will only let me select 2 of them. What's the trick on flying 3 at the same time?

Mine's exactly the same as yours. Although the transmitter shows A B C the switch has only two positions, so there's a choice of two only. I doubt it's possible to fly 3 at the same time.

I have recently bought the s107 model, it takes approx 1 hour 10 minutes to charge by both charging through usb and the handset. this only supplies 5 minutes of flying time. the instruction booklet...

The 5 minutes is disappointing I agree, but it seems to be normal from what I can tell. Here's a good reference:
Today I did several use/recharge cycles, and I am fairly sure it was better at the end (went up from 5 minutes to 7). Yours may improve with use too.

As for the charging time, I don't have enough data yet to help, because I've only charged via USB and its behaviour has been weird. At first the light did not go out at all, and latterly it has gone out, but nowhere near for long enough, so on every occasion I've left it plugged in for at least 40-50 minutes. I might wonder if your USB isn't supplying enough power - apparently some laptops in particular don't supply as much power as other computers. That's only speculation but it's probably worth trying another USB source if you can. I've seen others talk about charging in 30 minutes, so there's hope yet. I'd recommend googling on "s107 charging time" - it's come up with lots of hits. Good luck.

240CO - GE Carbon Monoxide Alarm - Green light blinks every 1-2 seconds , I just replaced this unit

Should be fine. Usualy most CO units blink green to say it is alive and working fine. Double check your paperwork if you are not certain and the from of most of the GE CO detectors say what the lights are for.
