I have a photosmart 4650...when I print from a web page, the print is so small I cant read it. How do I change the font size?

Best Answer -
That entirely depends on what you are printing. A printerwill only produce what it is given.

If you are printing your own document then you change the font in the documentbefore printing or select the font before you start.

However I suspect the reason you are asking this is because you are printing apdf document from the internet. In which case the font is fixed.

If so, then you will have to copy and paste the document in to a word processorlike Word, highlight it all and the increase the font. You will then have toreformat the whole document as the increased font will throw the orginalformatting all out of line.

When you have straightened it all up then print it off.
ALTERNATIVELY, if you are printing on ordinary web page then you need to follow the below instruction
Instructions
1. 1 Go to theweb page that you want to print and right-click it. Click "PrintPreview." If you want to print part of the page, highlight the contentthat you want to print and right-click the selection. Click "PrintPreview." 2. 2 Click the "Page Setup" icon located onthe top of the Print Preview window to launch the Page Setup dialog box. Click"Change Font." 3. 3 Select the font you want to use in the"Size" window. If you want to change the font type, make yourselection in the "Font" window. Click "OK" to save thechanges and click "OK" again. 4. 4 Turn on your printer if it is not on. Click the"Print" icon on the Print Preview window to print your web page.

Printing in a huge font with outlined lettering

More than likely this a "Fontcall" error from within the application.

What normally happens is that you design a document in Word and select a font that is resident on the PC but has not been downloaded to the printer.

When the document goes to the driver, the driver sees the call for a font that it does not have in its index table and then does a :Best Fit" algorithm.

The output is usually very unexpected.

As a quick test, do a "<ctrl>+a" to select the entire document. Then change the font to Arial. Now see if the font on the screen matches the font on the printout.

If it does, either make sure you can get a "Soft Font" rendering of the font you want. Soft fonts will download automatically to the printer.

Or you can check with a company such as Font Mongerer to see if they have a printer font that matches the screen font. Once you purchase the font and download it to the printer you should be fine.

The problem with this type of printer is that when you use true type fonts, they are downloaded as graphics. If you have a field which changes on each label there is an overflow of memory. The solution is to use internal fonts for continuously changing datas

Fonts not installed

Fonts are typically available either for free or for a fee.

Only fonts that are visible in your C:\WINDOWS\Fonts Directory will be available to print.

You can google fonts and find more if you are looking.

Also, depending on the program you are using, you can save as a .pdf to print and this will "pack " you fonts into the document. You cna also use the "prepare for commercial printing" option in MS Publisher to store the fonts in the file.

Bottom line, if the font isnt installed, you cant use it.

You may be getting this error if the document came from someone who has the font but you dont. If that's the case, tell your friend you need the fonts. Just copy them out of the E:\WINDOWS\Fonts directory to your disc.

That should do it.

Installing or sending a font to Brother printer

you need to use a PS or post script driver in order to print this file.

the reason why you are getting a courrier font is that that driver is not supported by PS

download the latest PS driver of your particular model this should work perfectly
