Question about Danby Microwave Ovens
Number one reason (according to me) is failure of the door safety interlock switches. Remove the cover, find the switches and check them with a VOM.
What happens is when you open the door with the oven running, you cause a spark at the tiny contacts for the switch. Eventually, you burn them up and they are unable to tell the oven the door is closed. forget what you know about the door. The oven needs to know. If yo find a faulty switch, simply repoace it. Find the replacement at your local appliance parts store or a FixYa.com advertiser or www.repairclinic.com.
If the switches check out, #2 reason is a failed capacitor. This is dangerous to repair unless you know what you are doing with a high power capacitor. Definitely check the switches first!!!
