Question about Philips DVD & Blu-Ray Players

Philips DCP855/37 Portable DVD Player...when I try to charge up the lithium battery it does not charge. The directions say to turn off the power and the green charge light will turn on. When I plug it in the charge light flashes once. I also let it "charge" for 8 hours and still no battery life. I bought it off of ebay and it is the 2nd one to do this. I need to know if I am doing something wrong or if there is an existing problem with this model. Oh..and one other thing I have a new Ipod classic 80g,it does not seem to work on the Ipod dock with this unit either. I tried to connect it with the unit plugged in and I could not get it to play a video from my Ipod. I did set my Ipod to the correct settings.

Batteries in these things don't last very much; it is most likely a bad battery. Replace the battery with a new one and your problem should be solved.

SOURCE: Philips DCP855/37 Portable DVD.

The newer ipods won't work on an accessory not made by apple, another way to make apple more money by only buying their devices.

read the following article on this

I'm sorry to tell you this, but this is one of those things where you complain heavily to apple about and see what they will do for you or you will have to buy their portable screen/dvd player.

Philips Portable DVD Player Battery will not charge Where can I get it repaired@

Actually its a lithium battery. All you have to do is open up the back, take the battery holder / battery out and take that to a store with you to have it replaced. :)

Looking for a replacement battery for Durabrand PDB-702, does not hold charge

Good luck finding a direct replacement for this unit. A universal replacement can be found at many internet vendors for $30 to $50. RB-270 manufactured by INITIAL. 9.0V and 5400mA which is a great improvement over the OEM battery. Fully charged this battery should last 2 hours or more. NOTE: This is not a direct replacement and will not attach to your DVD player as the form factor is universal. It will reside next to the player during operation... a minor inconvenience. I think WALMART carries the same model.

Question

Hi,

To my knowledge, a TruTech PVS12701 uses a Lithium-Ion 7.4v 2500mAh battery. There are no exact replacement batteries for this model. Best that you can try are batteries for some other brand of portable DVD players such as those for Samsung that has the same physical dimensions and electrical properties. Another factor to be considered is the cost of the battery. In some instances, it would be more economically reasonable to purchase a new portable DVD than just the battery. Sorry.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Portable DVD Player will not power up

This player should be charged up until the green light goes out to be fully charged. I usually leave them on over night.
