If you smell or see evidence of ammonia, your refrig is finished. Check the ststus of your warranty before you do anything. Go to the manufacturers web site for particulars on the warranty.

You can rebuild your frig with a replacement coolng unit. I tried that and I got a marginal year use as the result of my effort and $. At the end of that camping year, I purchased a replacement NorCold unit with more features. The replacement cooling unit cost me about $300.00 (I did the labor) and the new frig cost over $1,200.00 (I installed it). If you exclusively camp where there is power and it is not a long distance between where you are and where you go, you can replace the unit with a electric only frig for about $125.00. I don't think I would spend a lot of $ on a used unit, but that may be an option for you. The status of a used unit is not known until you get it installed. You can make your own decision which system is best for you.

What can I use to remove a stain of SOYSAUCE in a carpet?

1. Mix one tablespoon of liquid hand dishwashing detergent with two cups of warm water.
2. Using a clean white cloth, sponge the stain with the detergent solution.
3. Blot until the liquid is absorbed.
4. If the stain remains, mix one tablespoon of ammonia (Caution: Never mix chlorine bleach and ammonia - the resulting fumes are hazardous) with 1/2 cup of water.
5. Sponge the stain with the ammonia solution.
6. Blot until the liquid is absorbed.
7. Sponge with cold water and blot dry.

My dometric refrig does not work on gas or ac and has a strong ammoina smell when refig.door is opened whats wrong?

It sounds like you have two problems. !. An ammonia leak (probably around the cooling coils). 2. A start problem. Although the two may be connected and the unit is detecting the leak, it may not be.

NOTE for #1: Leaks are detected (in small amounts of ammonia) when a lit sulfur candle is used. The candle will give off a very thick, white smoke when it contacts the ammonia leak. The use of phenolphthalein paper is also considered a good test. The smallest trace of ammonia will cause the moistened paper strip to turn pink. A large ammonia will cause the phenolphthalein paper to turn a vivid scarlet. Also some HVAC shops have ammonia leak detectors.

NOTE for #2: First, make sure that you have DC voltage to the unit, then compare the indications of the unit to the troubleshooting chart in the manual referenced.

Dometic refrig not cooling but found yellow oil at service panel

if you find an oily substance its most likely freon. this looks pretty new so i would say you have a bad soldered joint on a copper to steel line. theses usually ar fot the high side. where the condensor coil or loop runs either to underref or up in the ref walls

Camper fridge dont cool

I also had the same Model Make. I removed my fridge and placed it upside down, occasionally shaking fridge within a 24 hr period. This seemed to re-mix the ammonia solution and the fridge is working.
This may work for you but look for yellow stains if you see any your fridge is leaking and would require repair.
