Problems with screen

It is due to power supply regulator fault. Check the main power supply regulator section circuits for any damaged [bulged] electrolytic capacitors. Replace the suspected capacitors. When replace an electrolytic capacitor, make sure about its polarity. Like torch batteries, these capacitors also have both [+ve] and [_ve] terminals, and should match it with markings at the printed circuit board, when replace them. If the polarity changes when replacing them, they might burst out. Normally, [-ve] marking will be there on its body. See the example of the suspected component. Both good and damaged. See the bulged capacitor and good one on the same frame.

Picture blurred

blurred picture can be adjusted, and sometimes replacing of crt socket will solve the problem.
this is tricky so i've advice you to follow what i've said strictly.
Open the back cover of your set (make sure that you unpluged the unit first).
Look for the flyback transformer (it has a sunction cup connected to the picture tube).
You will see an adjustment knob on it, it mark focus but wait before touching, mark it with your pentel pen, marking the original location of the knob is important because that is the factory align.
After marking get an screw driver w rubber insulator as a handle to avoid an electric shock, this will be used to adjust the focus on the flyback knob.
Turn on the unit and hooked it up by your dvd player.
Play the dvd so that you will see a picture on the screen.
Pause it with a picture with characters.
Now you can see the blurred picture?
Try to adjust the focus on the flyback back and forth minimal turn only.
There's a reaction?Yes- continue to get a perfect picture and youre done.
There's a reaction?No- back the knob on its original position.
Your crt socket is faulty.
try some helped of your technician or people knowledgeable of disoldering and soldering technique.
Pull the board on the crt socket.the socket which attached to the tube is the one you are going to replaced. I've adviced you to observe first and familiarized what are going to dis-assemble because you will do the same when you replaced a new one.
After replacing your crt socket, picture ok?Yes-you're done
After replacing your crt socket, picture ok?no-picture tube is faulty.........

Burnt marks in my projection tv. Can it be fixed

if they are burn marks they must be present at all times when the tv is on if they are actually on all three picture tubes(CRT) it might be an expensive repair. Sometimes the burnt mark is only present on one of the three crts, a product of a on screen display left on for too long or the failure of a deflection yoke or something similar. the way you can find out if its a G/B or R crt,is when you get a commercial or a scene with a full G,B or R background you'll see the burnt mark on the screen that is damaged. picture tubes are replaceable but somewhat expensive. good luck and i hope i answer you question to your liking, if so please leave you pos feedback at this site. thanks!

Something impacted the screen and now a shatter mark but no picture

If this is an LCD or Plsasma screen, there is no way to repair the panel, it must be replaced. Post the make and model and I can get you part numbers and replacement cost.

Looks like pen marks on inside of screen

What you are decsribing sounds like your picture tube or tubes have been scored (permanent burn marks on the picture tube phosphor). The sure way to tell is to remove the front screen and look into each of the three lenses while the set is on. You will see a black image of your pen mark within the picture. Did you recently have problems with convergence or the set shutting down (turing off by itself for no resaon) ?

Marks on Screen

These are burn marks on one of the picture tube, probably the green one from the looks of your picture (the absence of green will leave red and blue)This happens as the result of some kind of previous failure, hopefully that has been repaired now. However the marks will always remain unless you replace the green picture tube which is costly and which is why they sold the tv. Sorry about the bad news, if you decide to have somebody replace the tube for you make sure they look for what burn't it in the first place it could be intermittant and waiting to happen again to your nice new tube. Although seeing what model this is this tv did like to do this when the convergence failed in which case it looks like that has been repaired already. Good Luck, hope you didn't pay too much for the TV.
