Hello,

Open the dash board and remove the player. Get a screw driver that can fit into the player's screw and carefully unscrew all the screws holding the player's cove together.

After removing the screws, use a flat screw driver to carefully pry it from the sides in other to successfully open the back cover or housing of the player.

After that, you might find some screws holding the screen, unscrew the screws, and detach the screen. After that, just go ahead and replace the screen.

Follow the same steps in order to couple the player back together.

Good luck.

Alpline iva-w505 touch screen broken. what can I do?

There is not much that can be done to a broken screen pad but to replace the whole unit . Please get help from the service dealership or post yourr problem to the link: Alpine official site.

Using IVA-W203 + NVE-P1. Cannot get iphone or Bold 9700 to work. It detects but does not dial or can't hear anything.

Not a solution, just commiseration - I've had the exact same problem with mine (apparently alpine is aware of the issue) and I've had about *15* different NVE-P1's in my dash to date so far AND i've had them replace the entire head unit as well. Still no dice. :-(

I don't know if this is related, but my Sirius cuts in and out like crazy too - sounds like a loose connection somewhere.

Suffice to say I will *never* be buying Alpine again!

Where do i get better maps on this nav

Alpine does not have any updates to this 4-5 year old map at this time per Alpine tech support. It is the same out of date mapping as the BT200 - when available, it may be supplied for free... or at a charge from there website - support. Also, having problems with your iPhone 3G syncing your address book. Alpine is having me send in my NVE-P1 and they are replacing the hardware inside so that it will now sync. Also, iPod Touch, and iPhones need at least version 3.0 in order to display video to the W505 unit.

Video is off for you safety ?

pac tr7 module will bypass the video lock. the lock comes on if you have the aux on while in drive. shuts off the screen so you cant watch movies and drive. go to amazon or google PAC-tr7 module. costs between 15-30 bucks depending on where you buy it. Very simple hook up, just follow the wire chart.
