Question about Salton Melitta MEK17W Electric Kettle
Filter failure is a common problem in Melitta kettles. The filters have a flimsy plastic mesh that falls apart with use, but the filter frame can last as long as the kettle. Some filters are no longer available from the manufacturer. If you still have the old original filter, here is an inexpensive and permanent repair option using stainless mesh. This is specifically for the MEK17W model but it should work just as well for the MK816L.
