Hi Rico,

This is an indication of out-of-regulation in the power supply section. It was caused by leaky/dried electrolytic capacitor in that section. It will drop the supply from normal voltage and will disable the unit.It needs a little warm-up to make itself stable but the symptom will get worst. Sometimes it has a bulged/dome at the top but not all, it is better that you have a capacitor checker/tester to determine its condition. Your unit will back to normal again if the leaky capacitor is isolated.

If you don't have necessary tools and test instruments, and can't do the job yourself, I would advice you to look for a professional to troubleshoot the problem. Don't attempt to work in the power supply if you don't know the safety precaution of handling it, there some stored electricity enough to hurt you with a little mistake only.

Also check if your unit is under warranty /extended warranty, avail it because the manufacturer of your unit will fix it for free. Don't open the back panel, this will void the warranty.

Hope I helped you.

Have a nice day!

Thanks for using Fixya.

SOURCE: TV turns off and power light blinks unpluged andd still does it.

Likely to be the STK convergence chips causing a protection circuit to switch the TV off. Have you got any onscreen convergence problems (i.e, colour fringes)?

HI:
This is a plasma unit and philips plasma's are nortorious for bad power supplys, your problem may very well be the power suppy in the television, it is possible you blew a low B+ fuse on the power supply. There is also a issue with the Y-sustain board failing in this model, If you open the back and looking at the unit from the rear the y board is on the left side of the unit and the PS is in the center. disconnect the Y-sustain power plug from the power supply and turn on the unit if the unit stays on with no red light then the y board is bad. it does the same then replace the Power Supply.

I have a green flashing light and my tv won't turn on.

This is cause of a power interuption. Try unpluging the TV from the wall, and waiting several min. Then plug it back up, wait serveral min again and the green light should stop blinking. Then turn it on.

Power wont turn on but the red staus light is on not sure what to do?

Does the light blink? If so, count the blinks. Those are error codes for the TV. Turn it off and unplug it... then plug it back in and try to turn it on and check to see if it blinks and count the number of blinks. It should blink "X" amount of times... then a pause... then do it again... several times.
