Hello Ivor,

I assume you're referring to the small neon mains indicator on the fascia panel rather than the internal light in the oven. To replace this, you have to pull the oven forward to gain access to the rear of the control panel from above.

The wiring at the rear of the control panel is live even when the oven is switched off. Please switch off the oven at the wall and/or the 30amp fuse in your consumer unit before attempting any service or repair on your oven.

1. Remove the four retaining screws ringed in red in the diagram below. These are only visible with the door open. Pull the oven forward about 8-10 inches. The oven is front-heavy due to the weight of the glass door and has a tendency to topple forwards, so either remove the door (lock the hinges and lift it out) or place something under the front of the oven to support it.

2. Unscrew the coloured lens for the mains indicator light on the fascia panel. This is difficult to grip and a bit tricky to remove, but unscrews anti-clockwise. You can now pull the main body of the indicator light through to the rear. You may need to wiggle it around a little to get it through the hole in the oven panel.

3. Disconnect the 2 wires from the terminals on the indicator light. Attach the wires to the new light, feed it back through the hole and hold it steady at the back while you screw the lens on at the front.

4. Push the oven back in, insert the four retaining screws and tighten them fully.

If you can't see the switches and wiring immediately when pulling the oven forward, there will be a removable access panel covering the front portion of the top of the oven. This either unclips or has a couple of retaining screws - I can't remember which on this model, but it will be obvious once you pull the oven forward.

Hope this helps. If you get stuck or need further assistance, please let me know by clicking on "Add a Comment" below your question.

Sorry, I remembered after posting that you may need to remove the fascia/control panel as well to remove the indicator light. I recall there is a flange on the body of the indicator light which is trapped between the fascia and the front panel of the oven body.

All of the other instructions still apply except the indicator light pulls out forward after removing the fascia panel.

    To remove the fascia panel:

    1. Remove the 2 control knobs and the timer/clock buttons ringed in blue. These simply pull off.

    2. Unscrew the lenses from both indicator lights ringed in green (see previous message).

    3. Remove the 3 screws securing the fascia panel to the oven. These are accessed from behind the panel so this needs to be done with the oven already pulled forward. There should be one at each side and one top-centre.

When re-attaching the fascia panel, you will need to make some minor adjustments to the position of the panel so it lines up correctly. To do this, insert the three screws, but leave them loose. Align the fascia correctly with the left and right sides of the oven door and semi-tighten the top screw. Next, lift the left or right side of the fascia until the gap between the fascia and oven door is equal all the way along, tighten the screw on that side, while holding the panel in position, then tighten the other 2 screws.

I should also mention that replacing the indicator light/s is not done by replacing the "bulb". You have to buy the whole neon indicator assembly. These cost about £15 and you should have this ready starting the repair. If required, I can provide the part number and supplier details, but it would help if you could let me know your location.

Hopefully, I've covered everything. Please let me know if you have any questions or need further assistance before or during the repair.

Where is the light bulb in the main oven as I need to replace it

On my older Jenair, it is on the upper surface of the oven. It has a glass cover that would need to be removed to access the bulb.
Could be the switch or connections at the switch that is preventing the bulb from operating. Depending on age of oven and frequency of use of the light, oven bulbs last a long time. Mine is still good after 26 years!

Replace light in KEMC378KSS microwave

The oven lights are 12-volt, 5-watt maximum halogen bulbs. They
will come on when the oven door is opened. On double oven
models, both upper and lower lights will come on when either
door is opened. The oven lights will not work during the Self-
Cleaning cycle. When the oven door is closed, press OVEN
LIGHT to turn them on or off.
To Replace:
Before replacing, make sure the oven is off and cool.
1. Disconnect power.
2. Remove glass light cover by grasping the front edge and
pulling away from oven

3. Remove bulb from socket.
4. Replace bulb, replace bulb cover by snapping back into wall.
5. Reconnect power.

Main oven bulb changed now new one will not go out.

There is probably a problem with the oven switch. If you are careful, you can, after switching off the mains, remove the oven light switch, pull off the live terminal and insulate it. The turn on the oven mains again and see if the light still comes on. If it does, there is wiring problem. If it does not, the switch is faulty and needs to be replaced.

How to replace oven light bulb for beko DC543 electric cooker

You may need to remove the glass cover by turning it anti-clockwise.
On some models access to the bulb is from outside so the oven has to be slid out of it's housing and an access plate removed.

chek this following steps..
Step 1 Make sure the bulb is actually burned out. Confirm the oven is plugged in and that a circuit breaker is not tripped.
  • Step 2 Look for the manual to determine what size bulb is required. Most use a 40 watt appliance bulb. If you can not find the manual, then buy a bulb to replace it after you take out the old one.
  • Step 3 Confirm that the oven is not on. Allow it to cool to room temperature if it has recently been used.
  • Step 4 Open the door and use a flashlight to light the area where the bulb is located. Do not put weight on the door itself, but go in at an angle or sideways.
  • Step 5 Find the shield or cover over the bulb, gently pull or twist it off. Some glass covers are surrounded by a wire clip or a ring that is screwed in to the back.
  • Step 6 Gently remove either the wire clip or ring. Since the cover is most likely glass, be cautious. Unscrew the entire glass cover similar to a jar lid in older versions of ovens. Then repeat process if there is more than one bulb.

    Bottom oven not working

If its brand new, most possibly the electrician did not bridge the mains connection. It sounds like an installation fault. There is usually a jumper between 1-2-3 on the L connection on the mains, and a jumper between 4-5 on the N connection. Oshie
