it could either be a faulty hard drive, or an usb problem. If your external drive is provided with an extra usb cable for corrent supply, try to use it, otherwise try to connect the usb cable directly behind your PC without any hub or stuff like that. If you are techincally competent, you could use a voltmeter to directly check the corrent provided by your workstation and verify if that is enough for your hard drive to work.
Hope it helped,

Constant beeping from Cavalry external HD

Can't say exactly what it means technically speaking, but my experience with such a problem is that the drive is 'dead'. Of course trying it on another computer would be constructive.

The Hard Drive keeps making a bleeping noise and it is not letting me acces it, what could the possible problem be?

you need to know computer BIOS to know message from beeping code. when u know the BIOS product then listen the beep (short or long, how many beep, etc). after u recognize the beep pattern, try to 'google' it with your BIOS product and beep status. or u can reply from this answer, maybe i can help.
tips: a lot of problem that computer cannot run and makes beep sound is that RAM not correctly installed, try remove it and put it in again in another RAM slot. if u use external VGA, try to remove it and put it in again.
hope this useful, regards.

My computer doesn't recognise my unifying reciever, i think it may be damaged

Try unplugging and replugging the receiver. You should hear the beep-beep sound as you disconnect the USB device and again as you reconnect it.
Then check in the device manager to see if it has been recognized.
After that, push the "connect" button on both the receiver and the underside of the mouse to establish a connection.
If all that fails, you are probably correct. (just to check--are the batteries in the mouse good?)

When ever i switch on my computer it gives so

if you are getting the beep codes while powering on your system then the most likely cause is due to RAM modules. Reseat the RAM modules on the motherboard or try swap the connectors and make sure and they are connected properly. When you try to connect a RAM try to listen the click sound as it ensures that it is connected properly and then reboot your computer and check if the beep sound remains or not.

My WD external hard drive does not stay recognized on my computer. When I first plug it in it makes the ding/beep noise and shows up on "my computer" but after a few seconds it makes the ding/beep noise...

Try the hard drive on another computer to see if it is the external or a laptop interface problem. There are EIDE/SATA to usb adapters that you can connect a hard drive to that the computer will then read as an external hard drive. The problem with external HDDs is the usb interface built into them, these are mounted on controller cards and that is ususally where the failure occurs.

When I try to type it makes a beep sound for every stroke and nothing is displayed?

You must be running a program that accepts text as input such a 'Word' or an E-mail program. The 'beep' means that each input (text) is not recognized by Windows.
