Question about Miele CVA4070 Coffee Maker

Unable to insert the brewer unit back. The notches on the motor wheel do not match anymore with the brewer grip however we try to play around with the brewer's mobile parts. Any idea ?

Bolt is put in wrong in Coleman furnace blower so we can't get motor out


If the improperly installed 'bolt' is in a location easily accessed, try clamping tighly a pair of vice grips on the head of the bolt to facilitate removal. I'm assuming 'put in wrong' probably means it is jammed in 'cross threaded' and you're unable to turn it correctly with a correct wrench.

If you're referring to the 5/16" square headed set screw that holds the blower wheel to the motor shaft, once the entire blower assembly is removed from the furnace cavity, access to the set screw is through the side of the blower wheel. If the wheel is attached with an allen screw instead of the 5/16" square head, access is either the same as for the other, or if you have the long
extended allens, look for a notch in the blade directly over the set screw location.

you have to remove motor by bending evaporator or condenser back far enough to allow it. if you have clamp on blower wheel have to bend evaporator out if set screw go through notch on vanes of blower wheel to loosen.

Yes, the carbon brushes go in a certain way. If you notice the brushes have a notche cut out on one side. Take a light and shine it in the machine and you will notice a piece sticking down the notch goes that way. The notch changes from side to side so you will have to do this on both sides. This will put the power/brusches back in the proper way.

Blower wheel removel no lock washer screw on


You will need to put a pair of vice grips on the motor shaft (to keep it from turning) on the inside of the dryer then go to the back of the dryer remove the blower wheel cover and insert a 1/2" socket drive extension into the middle of the blower wheel and turn clockwise to loosen and spin off to remove the blower wheel.

Have Craftsman gas weedwacker double line ran out.


take off knob that holds on the spool on bottom of weedwacker, remove spool, there are notches around the outside splines on the bottom of the spool. (the bottom is the end that fits up into the spool housing. there are 2 little holes opposite one another on the spool - one on each section. Cut two lengths of line about 6 feet long. stick line into first hole (near bottom of unit) wrap line around spool. once wrapped line gets short - to the point where you cant wrap it anymore - stick the end into one of the notches - do the same with the other line - insert spool back into housing - make sure spring is attached to the spool and lines come out of the holes in the housing - reinsert knob and tighten - make sure as you are doing this you unseat the ends of the lines off of the notches on the spool and they are out through the housing - tighten knob and you should be good to go

Robo kleen stopped working, motor starts but it does not move


Hello, I think I had the same problem with mine : the filterpump worked, but robot didn't move. I opened it up and the problem seemed to be that the pin which locks up the gear wheel to the axle of the front wheels had broken into three pieces. We inserted a new pin (nail, screw etc) and the Robo kleen works just fine again. Maybe you should check this is also the problemwith yours. Good luck !

It's very simple. Involves a bit of fore arm strenght.
It should pull straight off. Just put one hand around the gear knob & your other hand supporting or gripping with both.
Just pull straight up. It shouldn't need much force. A small amount of glue may have been used to help hold it in place.
The knob might come off leaving the plastic sleeve/insert in the shifter. Same again, just grip that & try pull it off. A vice grips should not be neccessary but if you need it be carefull not to apply too much pressure as you don't want to break the sleeve into pieces.
The new knob should have a sleeve with it. Normally it will be inserted & you should be able to just pop it straight on.
Make sure it's lined up properly. You probably noticed on the bare metal shifter that it has a notch normally running across from left to right. Well inside the knob if you can see in you will notice it has a plastic or metal piece that will fit into this notch. This is to stop the knob from spinning around or slipping!
Just push down on the top of the knob & try slide it over the shifter. It might not go down all the way with pushing so a few taps with you palm may be enough if you have big strong hands but if not be carefull & only use a rubber head hammer or something you can hold but won't mark or break the knob.
Put a towel or old t-shirt over the knob & use anythink heavy that you can hold easily with one hand & that has no sharp edges!
I don't think any glue should be neccessary but if you feel it needs a little & the knob is comming off or going on too easy then just a few drops on the sides of the bare metal shifter before sliding the knob back on should suffice!

I'm not sure how old your unit is but over time, the rubber parts in a VCR become cracked, glazed and begin to slip.

There is a rubber wheel about the diameter of a nickel that is called the pincher wheel and does exactly what its called.

It pinches or compresses the tape against a shiny metal spindle called a capstan. The capstan spindle is connected to a motor. The pincher wheel rests against the turning capstan with the tape in between the wheel and capstan.

The pincher wheel can become glazed and coated with a brown oxide that has worn off of the tape. This causes the tape to slip and it can spool out into the VCR.

There is another wheel called an idler tire. It lays flat and pivots between the sending reel and pickup reel. Its used during play, fast forward & rewind. This wheel too can become glazed and worn causing slipping. If your unit won't play, fast forward or rewind, most likely the idler tire is the culprit.

There are also belts that can also become glazed and worn. These belts are used along with motors in the tape load/eject mechanism and capstan drive. If the belts slip, the tape may not load or eject properly and the capstan might not be turning properly.

When I owned my repair shop, one solution was we to remove the belts and/or tires and apply a re-grip solution on the rubber with a cotton swab, while roughly rubbing the the entire rubber surface back & forth with the swab. The re-grip solution actually eats away the top surface of the rubber leaving the rubber surface course and causing it to grip better.

Another solution was to just replace all of the rubber tires and belts. These parts including the re-grip solution may be ordered through www.mcmelectronics.com

VCR started eating tapes.


When a VCR eats a tape, it can be cause by a couple things.

1. There is a rubber wheel called a "pincher wheel" that compresses the tape against the "capstan". The capstan is a shiny metal spindle connected to a motor. The pincher wheel can become worn and/or dirty (slick) from the oxide coating off of the tape. You can try cleaning the pincher wheel and capstan with alcohol or try using a re-grip solution on the pincher wheel. Last thing to do is replace the pincher wheel. Look to see that the pincher wheel is doing its job by pulling the tape through.

2. There is a small tire wheel called an idler tire. This tire pivots between the sending and pickup reels of the player. Its also used during fast forward & rewind as well as play. If the tire is worn, the tape won't be wound up as fast on the take-up reel as the sending reel during play. This means more tape is coming out of the cassette than can be wound up on the takeup reel. You can try using a re-grip solution on the idler tire or replace it.

Yes - There are cassettes available that are made out of clear plastic that allow you see what's happening. You can also trick the player into thinking there is a tape. There are sensors (mechanical & infrared sensors) that you can bypass.
