When you connect headphones to your computer the computer will only send sound through the headphones and not allow sound to come out of the speakers. this is the way almost all audio drivers are setup, it detects the speakers and the headphones as 2 different devices and will only play sound through one (headphones first and if there are no headphones then speakers).

The only way I know to resolve this (and I hate this suggestion) is to purchase a headphone splitter. Connect the speakers and the headphones through the splitter, the quality of the splitter will determine the quality of the sound.

You could try going to the audio driver options (if there is any program installed by the audio driver) to see if you can get it to play through both but with both my Acer laptops I have been unsuccessful.

Hope this helps.

Hi we just purchased a KA240H we didn't realise it dose t have sound can l hook up speakers to it

The Acer KA240H is a monitor with VGA and DVI video inputs. Since neither of these carry audio, you'll need to connect the speakers to the video source. If your source is a computer, you can use any speakers with a 3.5 mm cord or that can use an adapter to the 3.5 mm stereo plug. These can be headphones, 2 connected speakers with the control on one of the speakers or 2.1 systems (subwoofer + 2 speakers). (On some computers, you may be able to use surround sound speaker systems. However, all of the connections to the source will use 3.5 mm plugs. Check your system for the audio outputs.) Some systems may support blue-tooth audio speakers.

If your source is another device, you'll need to make sure that you have the appropriate audio connections for the device and speakers.

I hope this helps.

Rear auxiliary audio plug port not working

Auxiliary is likely an input for external sound source. It won't produce sound.

Kdl-32v4000 sound

Check the speaker first. Check if there is any sound output comes from the audio out terminals at the back of the TV, by connecting them to any external audio out devices; such as an amplifier or so. If there is audio output comes from the external source such connected, and no audio output from the TV; since the speakers are good, the fault is with the audio output section circuit inside the TV. If there is no audio output from the external sources too, the fault is with the audio processing section circuit at the main board. If this is the case, main board is faulty, and should be replaced.

I connected my Hitachi to my stereo speaker and it lost power and will not turn on

Yes it can be fixed.

What likely happened is you connected it and if another piece of equipment was connected to that set of speakers (a no no) it back fed into the audio circuit of the TV.

The green leds in the set are indicators of various voltage sources the set develops and the one that either goes out or dims first is the one that has a problem.

Someone will have to go and locate the line (likely to the audio output) and find and replace the damaged part/s to repair the set.

Let me know if you have questions

It's an output only port. There are input ports, but they are situated on capture devices, something that your pc doesn't have. But you can buy the single capture box that has an HDMI in

How can I hook up my Bose cinemate on my Philips HD tv when no there is no Audio out and I want to use it for my dvd player, cable box, and video systems?

You don't need to send audio TO a TV. I's a TV, not a source of anything. Many of us use monitors (no TV speakers). The Bose speakers are presumably superior to the TV speakers so whatever the TV is watching (cable/sat/dvd) shuld have its own audio.

Page 11.

If your TV does not have any audio output jacks, you can connect the CineMate™ speaker

system to the audio output jacks of another source, such as a DVD player or cable/satellite

box. However, you will hear sound only from the connected source through your CineMate
speakers.

Yamaha RX-V365 unable to receive 5.1 audio from TV with HDMI

If you're expecting multichannel sound FROM THE TV instead of from the source you're watching, it's not gonna happen. TV's are notoriously poor sound sources. This one is no different.

Multichannel TV-related audio is best found at its source - cable / sat / dvd / bd....

I run video-related audio from my video sources directly to my TV and their audio directly to my receiver. Specialization yields best results.

I'd recommend skipping the Receiver for video, too, as it adds a lot of opportunity for HDMI-related incompatibilities and sound syncing problems. The more interconnects in the path, the more distorted it will become and the more opportunities for problems. Plus you can bypass the receiver and listen to lo-fi programming like news and weather through the TV's speakers if you like. Save a buck on electricity.

Just curious, which HDMI on the receiver is connected to your TV? Input or Output?

This note is on Page 11 of the manual:

Audio signals input at the HDMI jack are not output from any speaker terminals but output from the connected video monitor. To enjoy the sound from speakers connected to this unit,
-- make an analog or digital connection besides the HDMI connection (see page 13).
-- mute the volume on the connected video monitor

================
"Check SP cable." -- The unit is perceiving a short circuit. Are your speaker impedances sufficiently high? Disconnect the Front Right speaker and try raising the volume again. The speaker may be blown or the cable shorting.

Can i connect external speakers

gjrob,
You can connect external speakers with you model only if you have an external source of sound such as a receiver. This model does not have speaker outputs to directly connect speakers but it does have audio out connections that can send the sound from the tv to another source like the receiver.

On the back of your tv on the left there are connections listed under "Out". There is where you will find the audio out connections (red and White).

hi,
you have to connect the jabra audio jack to the audio source, to the speaker output of your receiver for example. If jabra detects the source it will work. If you cut the connection, jabra watch for a while if something happend and than stops the transmittion. Hope that helps
