How do I reset my wireless reception with function keys on my acer travelmate 2480?

What do you mean reset your wireless reception? Exactly what are you trying to do?

You can always disconnect from the wireless SSID that you are connected to.

You can even turn the router off and turn it back on by unplugging it.

If you are talking about turning it off with keystrokes, normally you would Press and Hold the FN function key located at the lower left of the keyboard then hit the key (F1 thru F12) that toggles the wireless on or off. The correct F1 thru F12 key will have the wireless signal icon )))) or it will have the icon of a tower with the wireless signal )))).

Toshiba satellite a60-111 wireless cannot activate either by switch of key function

http://209.167.114.38/support/Download/files_downloads/PSA60C/SA60EXUM.PDF

on page 4-29 (or 106 of the pdf) is where it talks about wireless. However on page 2-9 it talks about an orange glow to know your function is turned on. review the above manual and store for the future as I don't know who provides it.

Cannot connect to internet. Wireless connection indicates it is working, but Internet Exploer indicates cannot display the webpage.

This is usually because the wireless key code (password) was entered incorrectly or has got corrupted. Go to "view wireless networks" (from the icon at bottom right of your screen) find the one it says it is connected to and click "disconnect". Then re-boot the PC (not strictly necessary but a good precaution), go back to "view wireless networks", find the correct one for your router and connect to that with the correct code key. I have seen it where the code key has been changed from the one written on the sticker on the router and if that is the case the "fix" will be more complicated.

Also, if this does not work, go to "control panel" then "Internet options" and then "advanced" and find and click on "reset". This puts Internet Explorer back to the default settings and often fixes it (though NOT if yours is an incorrect wireless key issue as talked about above) - Your home page will change to MSN but that is easy to change to your preference.

Hope this helps

I have a laptop with built in wireless- i want to connect my kodak esp 5210 printer to it. so far i have searched for printers on the wirless search device button and it cannot find the printer, i can...

I think you may find that, as in my HP Printer, the Wireless through my laptop has to talk to my Broadband Router which in turn talks wirelessly to my printer.
You are right, wireless and WI FI are slightly different standards.

I'm having trouble setting my laptop up to work on my wireless network at home. It says that it's disconnected. How do I resolve that?

1 make sure wireless is on the laptop.
2. make sure your wireless router is brodcasting the signal.
3 search for your wireless router with the laptop.
4. if it finds it click conect.
5. if it ask for a wep key you must then find this on a computer conected to the wireless modem. it will be inside the modem configuration page.
6 enter key and press conect.

hard to explain it all but try that, or give me your msn or skype and ill talk you though it.

Problem in wireless

Troubleshooting wireless is often a multi-step process. Step one is always to bring up the STATUS window and sit there for 10 to 20 minutes (get a strong coffee first) and simply watch the signal strength. To do this (assuming you let Windows manage your wireless) right click on the wireless icon in the system tray in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen and in the pop-up menu click on STATUS. Note the number of bars that are green, sip coffee, repeat for as long as needed to confirm that there is no "drop out" of the signal received.
Step two depends on the results of step 1. If the signal droped out your problem is either the wireless transmitter, EMI or the laptop's ability to receive. More on that later. First, what was the result of step one?
