In most computers with beep codes, the single beep means that the computer is running without any critical errors. when there is a problem with the RAM, it will most likely tell you by sending out a series of drawn-out, repeating beeps.
I guess I'm not clear as to what the issue is, if you remove the RAM chips, then the computer will not work correctly. If you're willing to clarify, then inbox me a specific problem ,I will happily answer it for you.

5 beeps

Hi this sounds like a memory/ram issue you need to power of your machine, remove the power cable & then without the power cable connected, press & hold the power button for 15 seconds until it makes a chime noise, that is a basic power function reset, if that does not solve it, remove the memory cover panel on the under side of your laptop then carefully remove the memory chips blow or vacuum the area & use a dry piece of tissue to very gently clean your memory of any dust, replace the ram chips & re-connect power cord, this should solve it, but if not try starting up again without the power cord, if it's successful without the power cord you'll need a new 1, if not it suggests your ram chips have gone bad & you may need to purchase new ram chips, good luck :-) you can find more info about the 5 beeps here: Computer Does Not Start and Emits an LED or Beep Code

if you need to purchase new memory/ram chips you can get cheap ram here: Cheap Laptop Memory RAM Upgrade Low Prices UK Deals Ebuyer com

If you do need to buy new ram chips, I'd advise buying 2x 4GB modules :-)

Beep sound three short one long

This are beep codes, they tell you what is wrong with your computer, that particular code sound like RAM Memory issue, open the pc and remove and replace the memory modules with luck this will allow you to start the pc and see if the memory was indeed the problem.

The yellow light comes on inside but the computer won't come on neither does it beep?

First remove any power cables and batteries(if laptop) from your system and hold down the power button for 15 seconds.

Plug the power cable back in & attempt to boot.
If this does not solve your problem then you will need to remove all non-essentials from your system.

If laptop, this simply consist of battery, ram, optical drive & any other removable bays or devices. Unplug all cables except the power cable & attempt to boot.

If desktop, you will need to remove any cables plugged into your computer except keyboard, mouse, power, video, sound, & network cable. Open the case & remove any PCI cards, except video cards, unless you have on-board video, unplug the data & power cables going to the optical & hard drives. Now attempt to boot. If you have no luck you can remove your RAM sticks & try again. If you get an error beep warning you about no ram then you might have a bad ram stick. If none of the above works then you may have a bad power supply or motherboard. Power supplies are pretty easy to test with tester or use a spare.

Hello, When I power ON the desktop, It flashes a green light then after 1 second will start beeping with a red light. it beeps four times then pauses then beeps again for about twenty...

This issue might happen due to RAM.

To resolve this issue:
Turn of the power supply for your desktop.
Please remove the side case on your tower(CPU).
find the RAM slot and remove the RAM from the Slot.
Clean the RAM terminals with the help of cloth or Eraser.
After cleaning place the RAM on RAM slot.
Now try to turn ON the PC desktop. If it is working thats fine or else you need to replace another RAM to check.

Please refer the below figure to find the RAM Slot and the lock to remove the RAM.

I have a Dell Dimension 3100 which has recently moved house, and will not longer start up. The PC will switch on through the mains, but there is a series of 6 - 8 short beeping sounds, and the monitor...

I think you need to open the PC up and reseat the RAM modules, and the HDD cable and the CD/DVD cable too, make sure the power supply cable is secure too.
Also make sure you have the Video cable connected correctly too. Also the Keyboard & Mouse check them, they go color to color, also temporarily remove any USB connected devices. Connect them up after you have a desktop.
Those beeps usually indicate No Ram, or No video or both.

I removed the hard drive and put it back now it just beeps it's a dell deminson 4200 desktop

just Refix RAM sticks and start your pc.Its better you refix the hard disk connectors also. Normally its because RAM issue. Just open the CPU cover and clean the RAM slots and refix RAMs. You can put one by one if you have multiple RAMs. check with different RAM slots. If you still get this sound you need to get new RAMs

RAM will look like as in below picture

No signal to monitor. No beeps at start up. Fans running. New video card installed (after issue began) monitor & cord are working fine (have checked both with other computer)

There might be a problem with your RAM you may check your RAM and clean it with a cotton cloth and fix it again or change your RAM and see
Or the problem can also be with your moniter

The beeping sound of the emachine desktop T3414 makes a long beeping sound for 4 seconds flat and pauses for 2 seconds and repeats the process. Hope this is a broader explanation of the problem. Thanks.

Open cpu cabinet.
Then refix RAM memory.
Pull processor fan and then processor remove dust from all parts and circuit.
Reattach both processor and its fan.
then check if still face same issue.
Then pull cmos cell from motherbord.
Change RAM memory slot module .
Remove pic cards from PCI slot.
Reattch ATX power connector from smps to motherbord.
Then check.
If still face same problem then your RAM has need to be replaced.

Let me know if you need more assistanse.
Thanks.

Beeping noise after installed memory on ecs motherboard L4S5MG

Some older computers, like mine, have a maximum memory they can handle. This one happens to be 1 gig, but yours may be less. Do you have an older computer? Yup, you do. As seen here, the maximum supported ram is 256. I'm sorry. Please rate.
