Make sure that the cd/dvd burner is getting enough power test all leads that are attached to the dvd burner including electical extensions and make sure they have a secure connection or just replace them there might be bad/faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they are probably old and faulty ?
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to cd/dvd rom you might see a yellow quaestion mark? right click to install drivers
if your computer came with a motherboard disc the drivers could be on it

Tray will not open

It sounds like the CD is not in the correct location. Tap it gently in several directions, try this several times it may solve the problem. I think you will have to open it up and align the tray assembly and remove the offending CD.

How do I get a cd out of a cd rom that is jammed in but the drive will open?

There is a small pin size hole between the tray and the eject button. Push it with a paper clip and manually pull out the tray. 12e679d7-0444-4257-8340-46f126b73236.jpg

The CD disc tray will not open. There is a CD in the tray.

To solve this you must:
Look on the front by the CD tray and find a tiny hole Separate a paper clip and let ends stick out Take one end of the paper clip and push into the hole This will release the CD tray to open it This gives you a method to get a CD out if one gets jammed

Deneon UD M50 - Tray jam

It sounds like the cd tray has been forced shut and has been damaged when you got the CD's out. If it was me I would of unscrewed the casing and retrieved the CD's that way instead of trying to force the try open which I'm assuming you have done.

It could just be a simple matter of just slightly adjusting the internal CD mechanism so that it can open and close properly without jamming. The error message comes up because the tray cant eject properly. The worse case scenario is that the CD mechanisam would need to be replaced. Not a hard job for a service engineer, if you dont fancy taking the thing apart yourself then a service centre is your best bet.

CD tay won't open

If you had any cds inside, you can open the case and see whether there's any cd jammed, with the power switch off! If you didn't have any cds inside, open the case anyway and check if the tray opens or not!!!

Hope it goes well!!

My cd/dvd opens then closes

> I've already replaced it once

Well, I've seen CD-drives that would re-open, when you try to close them -- it is _falsely_ detecting a "jam" as the tray is closing, and then just re-opens the tray, rather than "forcing" itself to close.

Replacing the CD-drive is the only way to fix that type of "false-positive" jam-detection conditions.

But, since you've done that, either you were unlucky-enough that the replacement drive was also "defective", or, you have a computer-virus on your computer that is maliciously issuing commands to the CD to "open-the-tray".

Cd tray jammed

If you turn it off at the mains, wait a few seconds then turn it back on. As soon as you turn the power on, try and press the button for the tray to open. If this dont work, you will have to open up your system and remove this disc yourself. Good luck.
